One of
Book Riot's 'Best and Swooniest Romantasy Books'

'Amber's series breaks the rules in the best way. Her main character is strong, capable, and unapologetically powerful. There is no damsel here. This story is filled with fast-paced action, an in-depth world, and a romance that goes from simmer to boil. If you like romantasy, read this!' RAVEN KENNEDY

'A wicked ride from beginning to heart shattering end. Leaving me literally screaming for more. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get more our morally corrupt heroine who you can't help but root for, along with the giggle inducing banter between her and the heroic god Samkiel' HANNAH NICOLE MAERHER

'Once in a while I read a series that reminds me of just why I love enemies to lovers, slow burn, and morally grey characters so much. Gods and Monsters is that series. This is perfection. Amber Nicole's Dianna is the FMC of my soul' NISHA J. TULI

Don't miss this addictive BookTok sensation - a perfectly steamy, high-stakes, TRUE enemies-to-lovers, dark epic romantasy!

WHERE THERE ARE GODS, THERE ARE ALSO MONSTERS . . .

For a thousand years, the Etherworld has known peace.
Until now.

Many centuries ago, desperate to save her dying sister, Dianna made a deal with Kaden, a monster far worse than any nightmare. Locked in servitude to him, she is forced to hunt down an ancient relic held by her most dangerous enemies: an army led by Samkiel, the World Ender.

After the Gods War, Samkiel hid from everything, denying his crown and deserting his people. Now, an attack on those he loves sends him back to the realm he never wished to return to, and into the sights of an enemy he had hoped to forget.

With every world at stake, Dianna and Samkiel are forced to set aside their animosity and work together, before all is lost . . .

Don't miss the next book in this series, THE THRONE OF BROKEN GODS . . .

Great story, terrible narrator

The story itself is excellent. I wish I would have just read a physical copy and not listened to the narration because the voice and delivery does not match the character at all. Ruined the book for me. She sounds like a petulant child half the time.

Young Adult - Description didn’t mention this

Spoilers included.
If I was rating this book as a 15 year old girl I would give this book a four star. For whatever reason, I expected more of an adult book, but it’s not truly geared towards 30+ year old women like myself. I found it hard to engage with believing the main characteristics of each character with being a God, or all powerful, or lethal, etc. It seemed like when up against the enemy these all powerful main characters lost the ability to use any of their power exhibited in other parts of the book. Diana could slaughter an entire building of people, but could not fight off skeletons……….. sometimes she can teleport, but not when she is in peril. It’s a nice book, but there needs to be a lot more development on the romance portion of the book for the relationship to be believable. The author states each main character has been with many many other men and women… but it’s a very middle school feeling dynamic between them. Had the description properly stated this was more of a young adult book I probably would not have purchased it.
I’d give it one pepper for spice, as there is some tiny mentions of sexual positions, a blow job, breast touching.
I did not care when Gabby died. Sorry.

In a nutshell, a lowly ragamuffin meets your typical narcissist with extra evil on top. Said narcissist uses said ragamuffin, and bread crumbs her for centuries. Fast forward, she meets a non-narcissist and then likes him because he isn’t terrible to her. Meanwhile, the world is supposed to be in peril. Typical he doesn’t like me / she doesn’t like me internal monologue, where this drags out the entire book because the characters never share their real feelings.

I would read the next book, if it was free.

Really Enjoyed!

I really LOVED this story. It was a bit drawn out in places and the plot could have used a little more development, but I did enjoy it. Can't wait for the next in the series. The narration was ok. I like it better when there are two narrators for the dual POV, but it wasn't too bad.

Slow in beginning but great at the end

Beginning is pretty dry & runs on, but hang in there! By the end you become very invested in the characters & story line.

yes!

This is what the fantasy world needed! Fresh new story, filled with amazing characters that grow. Just enough *spice" to keep it adult.

Love!

Amazing performance! The first part of the book was a bit slow but I really like it when Diana and Liam's story picked up!

The narration was good

The Book of Azrael was confusing and I found that I couldn’t connect with any of the characters. This book isn’t for me.

The story was great but this voice actress deserves a raise. She was phenomenal! She outshined full cast books. She’s a one woman show I love her
