Very interesting weaving of the Norse gods myths with a young adult story

I really enjoyed the way they used their Pacific Northwest as their setting and I thought that it was a great adaptation of the Norse, gods myths and also Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

Good narration

I received a gifted copy. This review is honest and voluntary.

I did enjoy this book enough that I finished it. I just found it drawn out and found I was bored for parts of the book. But also too much packed in the last 1/4 of the book. Also, that ending? Ugh. Made me mad. While I did enjoy it, I don't think I will be continuing this series.

I also bought the audiobook to listen along and I would recommend the audio for those who prefer to listen.

Got to chapter 14 and will not finish

After book talk, decided to hype this book up so much. I was super excited about it. It was all over TikTok. It was all over Facebook. and I was excited about the premise, but to say that I am absolutely bored is an understatement. I’m sorry, but the narrators are boring. The female narrator sounds like she’s bored out of her mind and would rather be getting a root canal. I am a huge fan of the romantasy and the enemy to lovers and Norse mythology but this is a huge waste of time. I’m sorry to the author. I hope that future books are better because this is not worth the Audible credit that I spent on it.

DNF

I could get through the female narrative but once the male narrator began I could not force myself to continue the audiobook. Some books you just need to read instead of listen and unfortunately this is one of them.

DNF at Chapter 11

Performers made it hard to want to listen to the book. Female narrator doing male voices makes all the males sound like they are preteens. Storyline, for as far as I got, was boring.
