Publisher's summary

Introducing The Billionaire's Whim, book one in the hot and sexy new alpha billionaire romance series....

Twenty-three-year-old Lillian Jones can't seem to stay employed; she always lets her temper get the best of her. Her life is a mess; her debts are piling up, she's about to be evicted, and she's desperate for a job. Then she gets one last chance: a job as a personal assistant for sexy billionaire Trent Blackwell. Her independent spirit recoils at the idea of working for such a demanding, controlling man, but something inside of her melts at his command. She promises herself that she'll do everything she can to hold on to this job, no matter what.

After his father's death, Trent Blackwell finds himself in charge of Blackwell Enterprises at the age of 32. A man of confidence, he gets what he wants, when he wants it. And the second Lillian told him off during her interview, he knew he wanted her. He's determined to take her in hand and teach her some respect, and he knows that's what she secretly craves. As he brings her to a new level of sexuality, they dive into a world of temptation, desire, and broken boundaries. But a scheming ex and some suspicious activity within the company mean that Trent and Lillian will need to work together if they are to save the company, as well as their lives.

So Far So Good

This book is starting out pretty good. Lillian is all over the place and very unorganized. It seems as if she feels that someone owes her something and she continues to bounce from job to job. If you were to look up whining, her face would be there. I hope the character matures as the series continues.

YOU CAN'T STOP THERE!!

Any additional comments?

At 54 minutes long, this is one super fast listen.

If you've followed serials before, you know the drill. Book one will always get plot underway, introduce main characters, and let sparks fly...

But this book ends *just* and I mean just before the hero & the heroine meet.

And after 50 minutes believe me, YOU WANT TO SEE THESE TWO MEET. Trent (Hero) needs a good shaking up. Lillian (Heroine) has had a line of a-hole bosses and really needs this last chance job opportunity to pan out with a good boss. Because she can't seem to keep her mouth shut and from telling them where they can stuff it.

Problem? Trent's worse than all of them combined.

He however has the problem on the opposite end of the spectrum; he has chased off every assistant because they are afraid of him.

CUE SPARKS, RIGHT??

She has a hellacious start to her Morning of the Interview, and the tension has been building, building, building - you just know she's about to blow her top and he's got to be aggravated beyond belief with her being late so when she finally reaches his office you are like, "Oh this is gonna be good" but...

That's when THE BOOK ENDS. Noooooo...

Trust me.

YOU REALLY REALLY WANT BOOK 2.

And I say this after thinking at first that the characters were kind of "meh". When the book begins, Trent is the typical jerk billionaire trope: arrogant, rude, abrasive and in need of a woman who will set him straight.

Yes it's trope. But by the end, I was happily following along and really excited to see those sparks that were stolen and spirited away for book 2.

Lillian is... at first I didn't like her much. Yes, we've all had those jobs, those days, those rough spots and those "it just happened!" but this girl is one hot mess that I struggled to like at first. By the end though, I was more sympathetic and again, really wanted her to show Trent just how much she wouldn't, couldn't be cowed. I want her to stick it out with this job because he needs her to spice things up and tell him like it is.

LADIES!!!!!

Please know that this is not acceptable behavior from an employer, co-worker or anyone. This is NOT the 1940's. This IS NOT ok.

If you are on the receiving end of anything like this report him.

No job, no pay check, no advancement opportunity is worth the sexual abuse and hostile work environment that is demonstrated in this series. It's not normal. It's not ok. Its acceptable.

And if you think "I have to put up with it, I need the money." Well, a lawsuit will pay more and you'll keep your self respect.
