Publisher's summary

A step-by-step guide to understanding and overcoming the anxiety problems that have plagued you for so long, The Anxious Truth goes well beyond just telling that that you'll get better. It actually shows you exactly how!

You're anxious all the time, experiencing panic attacks over and over, and maybe afraid to leave your house or to be left alone for even a few minutes. You are avoiding simple things like driving, eating in restaurants, attending family functions, or going to the supermarket. You are terrified of the next wave of anxiety or the next panic attack. Your anxiety problems are ruining your relationships, your family life, and your career. Your anxiety problems have you afraid, confused, lost, and feeling hopeless. How did you get here? What went wrong? You've tried so many things, but nothing has cured your anxiety? What can you do now?

This book, written by a former anxiety sufferer, best-selling author of An Anxiety Story, and host of The Anxious Truth podcast will walk you through exactly how you got to where you are today, why you are not broken or ill, and what the true nature of your anxiety disorder is. Next, the book will walk you through what it takes to solve your anxiety problems, how to make an anxiety recovery plan, then how to correctly execute that plan.

The Anxious Truth isn't always what you want to hear, but it's what you need to hear in order to solve this problem once and for all and move toward the life you so desperately want.

A STRAIGHT FORWARD BOOK

Being a sufferer of anxiety is draining. What you want to do is to find something that makes you feel right.
Well, it says in here something very true : is not how we feel, but how we react in front of anxiety.
It says it from the beginning, throughout the book and at the end.
Everybody faces anxiety, although not everybody reacts to that as we anxious people do. That's the plain, straight forward anxious truth.

The truth is, this book changed my life!

I've been dealing with generalized anxiety disorder for almost 20 years. I've read a dozen books or more but this book set me free. Just the chapter titles alone are the perfect outline for a full recovery. Drew speaks of anxiety as an elephant in the room and does not coddle the reader with quick fix theories that are nothing more than a band aid. He rips the band aid off with a wonderful presentation of a plan that requires work and commitment that will lead to full recovery and a no nonsense understanding from conception to the aftermath of anxiety disorders. This book didn't save my life but it made me understand how to save my own life. Thanks Drew!

Awesome Book

I found this book online and the synopsis really caught my attention. I have been struggling with anxiety and fear for 16 years. I’ve had numerous therapy sessions and connected with God. About 4 years ago I set out to change my life. I started driving more, took a new job in a new city, moved the family and struggled tremendously. Now my job requires that I be a road warrior and I’m able to do it with discomfort. One of the major things I’ve learned from this book is I’ve been practicing too much avoidance and it’s hampered my life. I needed this book and advice to put me on the final steps of my recovery. I still have a lot of work to do but I feel I’m better equipped and knowledgeable now to handle it and move forward. Thank you!! Highly recommend this book to anyone facing any type of anxiety disorder, there is hope and you can do it!

Amazing, Real and refreshing.

A great short listen packed with understanding, humor, to the point and tons of good tips. He really calls you out but realize that you're not crazy or the only one. He really knows every little thing you're thinking. It makes it funny. Then he shows you why it's manageable. I really needed this. Thanks!
