She wasn't no unwanted mate. Smh. Neither was he to be honest.

This book, was actually good. But the thing is, the description of the book didn't go with the story. Because for one, they wanted each other from the beginning Clyde and Angeline didn't make it hard for each other. She just was cautious of what was going down with the human women and the wolves. And he just didn't want to replace his wife. At the ending when he didn't wake up for awhile, only time he did was when she mention she was pregnant with his pup. That's what got his attention in his sleep. The ending had me thinking he better not be dead. Until she went to the infirmary to check on him. And it's like the main character women in Ellie Valentina books, always save the day while their alpha mate end up hurt.

Refreshingly Different!

Having read/listen to many shifter stories, this is not the typical dominate alpha who dominates and seduces his mate, and this is what makes this story a refreshing change. I really enjoyed the plot, the characters, and how the alpha, and his sons were not perfect.

A year after Clyde's mates dies, he and his handicap children are still grieving, and his oldest child starts to get into trouble by picking fights with another pack. Clyde's brother, the alpha of the pack, thinks it is time for Clyde to take another mate. After consideration, Clyde reluctantly meets with the women who pairs human females with a wolves, and is surprised when she suggest her daughter, Angeline, for his potential new mate.

Angeline is convinced what her mother is doing is wrong, and does not agree she should be pairing human females to wolves. She believes her mother does not know the true nature of the wolves. Angeline agrees to mate with Clyde so she can go to their territory to learn the truth, and bring back proof so her mother will stop matching human women with the wolves.

Clyde is excited when Angeline agrees to be his mate, but when he brings her back to his territory, she becomes distant and cold. To make matter worse, his sons are angry he has brought a new mate into their home, and he soon develops conflicting emotions.

As time passes in the pack, Angeline, soon learns she was wrong about the wolves, and her feelings and attractions towards Clyde grow. However, as Angeline comes to terms about her feelings, a revival pack starts attacking, and their pack suffers losses. Clyde, and the pack soon find themselves having to fight for what is theirs.

Even though this was a short story, it is complete with no cliffhangers. It has a great plot, well developed characters, and romance. A great falling in love story.

Older Widow wolf married younger 2nd wife(bwwm)

I really enjoyed this story. A widow male wolf with 2 small handicapped children take a female with strong genes ((BWWM) However, This widow wolf (50 something) doesn't want more children just companionship. So he goes to a match matchmaker, a woman in HER 50's.. Instead of hooking up with the matchmaker of equal age. the matchmaker set him up with her 20 something year old daughter. (ick) The matchmaker matched human female (of color) with wolfs to help strenthen their weak in breed blood line. She herself had fallen in love with a wolf long ago but, the relationship was denied. So the matchmaker was trying to make a way for future women like her. Why she didn't date the widow wolf & get a second chance for love.. I wish the writer had pair the to characters of similiar ages together instead of the typical younger girl with old male. BUT.... I find it refreshing to have a paranormal story with people of color. (Finally.. so few to hunt) The world is GLOBAL. And people that spend money to enjoy a wonderful audiable book appreciate having characters of COLOR in ANY stories. But, to be the lead character & love interest.. KUDOS..Now for stories with woman of all colors that are OLDER would be a blessing.. Don't older alpha wolves appreciate seasoned older females?? I hope. This story was ver SWEET... Paranormal BLENDED family.. Very cool Ellie Valentina!! Good job.

Being a Human Mate!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story written by Ellie Valentina. I found it was unique and extremely interesting. I would love to listen to more stories about this one. I'll need to look and see if this is a series because I know it can be read as a standalone story. I thought the storyline was solid, the characters are well developed, it also had loss, heartbreak, and love. A perfect short story!

Narrator, Addison Spear did a great job with this story and distinguishing accents and voices. I found myself engrossed in this story from start to finish. I didn't have any trouble with identifying each and every character in this story. This is the first time that I've heard anything this narrator has narrated so I will be looking for other stories she has narrated. Overall, I give it a perfect 5 star rating!

I listened to this book non-stop, its been a long time since I have done so. All I can really say, is I want more of this story. The narration was just incredible and the story itself just made you want to be apart of the community.

It was an incredible new take on the shifter world and was enjoyable.

The wolf shifter community needs the help from the outside world when the new generations are being born with weakness and disabilities. Clyde, a widowed shifter, goes to the local matchmaker to find a new mate. Angeline, daughter of said matchmaker, is leery of the shifters. When Clyde is matched with Angeline the tension is high. Back at the shifter settlement, tension is also high with the invasion of another pack. Can Clyde and Angeline survive the this?

Ms. Valentina has written an strong story. I would love to read more about Clyde, Angeline and the rest of the pack. Ms. Spear's narration helps to bring you into the story. She gave each character their own voice and shows a wide range of emotions.

I would recommend this book to those who enjoy the paranormal.

I wold definitely recommend this book. It was short enough to be a quick "read", slow enough to be believable, but fast-paced enough to keep interest. The characters were actual people with depth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clyde, because he was a protective father who didn't just forget his mate when she died.

Have you listened to any of Addison Spear’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to her before, but I loved the performance. Nothing makes a book better than a great narrator.

I absolutely loved that the main girl was a person of color. There really is a shortage of paranormal romance books with strong ethnic women as leads.

The alpha Mate

What did you love best about The Alpha's Unwanted Mate?

I liked that the characters are trying to adapt to a situation beyond their control. It kept me guessing what would happen next. I love that at the end they learned to respect each other and learned to adapt. I would read more books with the characters in this book,
