This is a must-read/listen for the series in my opinion. I had read it before but decided to go ahead and try the audio and it DID NOT disappoint. The duet full cast narration is so engaging and the story flows so well!

I loved the intro to this series, and i can’t wait to listen to the next one! It truly has the depth of a full fantasy story and characters that intrigue you to know more. I saw somewhere that the actual first book is slow but I’m hoping it’s still worth the listen cause I loved this one!

This novella was short, but it definitely did its job — I immediately started book 1 because I NEED to know who the other two mates are that Aurelia didn’t see yet. 👀 I think I might know who one of them is, but I’m not 100% sure. The suspense is killing me in the best way.

Aurelia’s personality is everything — resilient, fiery, and hilarious at times (her “sniffing men” moments had me cracking up). I already love her as an FMC, and I can’t wait to see how she grows through the rest of the series.
And can we talk about the audiobook cast?! Maeve York, Jonathan Waters, Oliver Highpoint, Sean Masters, and Ryan Lee Dunlap absolutely nailed it. SSOOO good — one of the best narrator lineups I’ve listened to in a while. 🙌

This novella wasn’t spicy, but the groundwork is there and you know the spice is coming. The whole thing feels a little like Zodiac Academy but reverse harem — dark, dangerous, a little unhinged, and totally addictive. Bring on book 1, because I’m hooked.

You need to read this before you start the series! 🫤

My only complaint is why is this sold separately and not the epilogue or the 1st few chapters of book one, was it because the author missed explaining this and ended up needing to guide the readers on what happened before the drama started. I didn’t like having to get this to understand what was going on in book one. Well It’s ok so far, the narrows are good, the drama isn’t bad and this has action plus it’s interesting. Now lets see what happens in the actual book one.

Great narrators, distinct voices for each of the main characters

I am doing a reread with the audiobook. Love the plot of this prelude story. Highly recommend threading this before moving on to the official first book of the series. The narrator for Lia is great! Each main character has a distinct voice and I think the choice of voice style for each character matches well. Overall really enjoyed this audiobook and hope they record the rest of the series.
