Marin's small reprieve at the Elven Kingdom turns into a longer visit than originally planned after Favian is sent on a mission with Kato and she cannot join.
When Marin meets Favian's identical twin, who had been stolen at birth, she's overcome by confusion as she starts to fall for him. She still loves Favian, even if he'll soon start courting female elves and leave their partnership behind.
Ready to escape it all, she runs off, only to find herself in the company of another Mercenary who, with her help, discovers things aren't really as they seem on this mission. Someone's setting a trap...and Marin is the target.
Whoever's after Marin has one thing in mind: stealing her power, even if that means sacrificing townspeople to do so. Marin's already risked her heart for the Elven Kingdom...but now it's up to her if she's willing to risk her life for them as well.

A thrilling read!
What a marvelous, thrilling and fantastic read!
From start till end, I was hooked - so compelling and addicting.
Loved the writing and the story. Wonderful characters.
The narrator's voice was amazing. A fantastic job narrating this book.

Better than the first
There's something I really loved about this book that I can't properly describe. While there were some annoying parts, like Marrin STILL not wanting to accept that Favian and her can be a thing and once again trying to push him away, you finally got to really get to know several other characters and see the world truly fleshed out. There were so many unique and wonderful things in this book and I would have loved to see parts extended.
I wouldn't mind seeing a follow-up book to this series and learn what happened to things (like the bracelet that could have been used so many more times) and if she completes any of her destiny.
The ending made the book well worth checking out.

Excellent All Around
Kept me enthralled throughout the story telling. The narrator Vanessa Moyen does one fantastic job pulling you into the story and keeping you there. I loved every second listening to the story. Kudos all around.
