Publisher's Summary

Millions of readers of Hatchet, The River, Brian’s Winter, and Brian’s Return know that Brian Robeson is at home in the Canadian wilderness. He has stood up to the challenge of surviving alone in the woods. He prefers being on his own in the natural world to civilization.

When Brian finds a dog one night, a dog that is wounded and whimpering, he senses danger. The dog is badly hurt, and as Brian cares for it, he worries about his Cree friends who live north of his camp. His instincts tell him to head north, quickly. With his new companion at his side, and with a terrible, growing sense of unease, he sets out to learn what happened. He sets out on the hunt.

Any additional comments?

Brian’s Hunt is the fifth book in the Brian’s Saga series by Gary Paulsen. Once again, Brian is alone in the Canadian wilderness… voluntarily. In this book, he encounters a new adventure, where his survival skills are tested to their limits. He helps to heal a wounded dog, which becomes a companion and significant part of his story. Brian’s Hunt is just as engaging and exciting as all of the other books in the Brian’s Saga series. It’s a great read.

Good addition to Brian series

Overall, a good book. I never tire of hearing about Brian's adventure. This is another win for Gary Paulsen. I highly recommend "The Car" by Gary as well.

nice that brians story has continued!

a great book however a little graphic. I loved it but the bear kill was really detailed so use caution with really young children. now I'm beyond excited wondering what will be the next book in brians life?! will he marry Susan and live like the small horns or instead will he wound up like billy?!

short and sweet

I just marathoned through my favorite children's series. I never thought that I could be able to finish it so quickly. the music did a really good job of setting the tone, and the narrators were very easy to listen to. I'm going to start on Guts next.

Brian all grown up.

Brian has grown up and has learned many things to make his life in the forest satisfying. While there is some tragedy in this story it is still a very coming to nature book. This is a great series to listen to, be you young or old, boy or girl, it is awesome and I will relistening to them in the future. Same narrator as all the Hatchet books. Start with the first book Hatchet.
