It is 1848, and Francis Tucket is heading west on the Oregon Trail with his family. Yesterday he celebrated his 14th birthday on the tailgate of a Conestoga wagon in the foothills of the Rockies. He met so many other people along the way, and the story went from happy to sad to happy and you never knew what was gonna happen next

Excellent book. Easy to listen to, and I wanted to continue reading it!

Hatchet, but not as long.

The trapper and the main character are riding their horses in a snowstorm, and they are kept warm at night by the horses in a circle in the snow.

Great for anyone who likes to read about the American frontier, trapping, hunting, and the Native Americans.
