Publisher's Summary

An ancient alliance under siege...a threat for which we are not prepared...and "Grey" aliens who are not at all what we expected.

The enigmatic Greys have returned, bearing a host of stunning revelations regarding their role in Earth’s history, the Pelarans, and humanity’s place in the cosmos.

The Pelaran Alliance has effectively disbanded, and Pelara itself is now dominated by the same world-shaping AI originally created to manage its own cultivation program. Armed with this new information, Terran Fleet Command must decide if coming to Pelara’s aid is worth risking a direct confrontation with the AI-controlled remnants of their once-mighty alliance.

Griffin, openly declaring his allegiance to both TFC and the world he has helped to build, agrees to accompany the Grey ship Ethereal on a high-risk recruiting operation spanning thousands of light years. Their mission: enlist the help of enough Guardian spacecraft to put an end to the out-of-control, tyrannical AI before its forces can reach Earth.

Captain Tom Prescott and the crew of TFS Fugitive, joined by allies both old and new, must reach Pelara and take the fight to the Alliance AI at the very center of its power. While in the Sol system, Admirals Patterson and Naftur fight a seemingly hopeless battle to save both Earth and Graca from certain destruction.

Loved this series

I had the pleasure of reading this series, and had to download the audio copy as well. I fully recommend this series to you all, But think that the author could do a follow up on the next stage of the Terran Fleet.

A worthy 1st series. Good characters and plot, with a good amount of comic relief.

Great book can't wait until the next one

I have loved all the books in this series. I like how the tech is a little different in this book series then in other books. The Grays are funny. I hope there will be more books in this series.

Can’t wait for the next one

A lot of the sci-fi audible books coming out are mediocre but this series is really good. It grabs you from the start and never lets you go. Great author.

Very cool

I was really happy when I got the email telling me about this audiobook. I of course bought it right away. I hope the author will write more like this soon.

Just bad ass

The space battle scenes are just bad ass in this series of books! Some series take me a while to get into, this one didn't. Great series - can't wait for the next book.

Author destroyed the entire premise for the series

I'm usually good at suspending disbelief for the sake of a story, but within the first chapter of Book 5 he completely took me out of the story with a premise for the entire series that is so factually incorrect I can't abide it. For someone writing hard scifi, this book is just embarrassing. To make it worse, he pushes way too hard on the "noble redemption" theme at the - a bookend of laziness and not doing his homework.

Narrator was great.

better narration, same boring writing

at least the narration was not so monotone, it actually was much better then previous books but the technical aspects continue to be boring and have caused me to place this collection on my bedtime get me to sleep list. if the author would have applied the descriptive process used by Rick of the greys this would have improved the books immensely. the storyline is good, but the details are becoming more and more annoying, I am glad there's only one more book in this collection and I do not expect that I will read anything else from this author as I personally find his process for details to be in my top ten for absurd and unnecessary.

The start

The start of this series had several appealing qualities like the fairly lo fantasy tech, and siitable premise.

However I can only say that all other qualities vital to any fictional book was dwindeling from the start but i eas hopefull. But here it hits rock bottom with no hope for recovery.

This latest installement the story is as straight forward and bland as they come so when the storytelling tecniques are virtually non excistent it truly begs the question: what is the point of this book. The book gives us norhing but a runtrough of the activities from a to b. The world is mostly described in few words and thus uninteresting, so are the characters and their social connections snd social struckture. It all just rambles on with the characters spelling out the motions of the story to each other in huge chunks a monologs. That in it self is unbelivable as it is, add to it this incredible naive and childish need to state their every thought, attitude and intent inn these monologues and you truly remove any point of telling this story to begin with.

audible and authors, please have some more respect

This story is very good, but cutting it into such small tidbits as an obvious money making just distracts from the professionalism. I'm refusing to give money to such distasteful practices. Authors - you will get more by being honest!

Excellent space Opera

I have been enjoying these books very much and recommend them. There's just one quibble, however, I think it's a shame the narrator has missed the opportunity to give the several alien species a different voice. I found that when I've stepped out of the story and come back in, it's been hard to tell whether it's the alien or human talking. I feel this detracts from the impact of separate and very different species interacting. It removes much of the alien bizarre flavour from the story.
