the real crime is the narration. We are told again and again that the sand tiger is a large rough man of the desert, yet the voice is higher pitched than that of his lover Delilah. furthermore, the arch tone and said inflections make the voice better suited to Manhattan than a desert culture. throughout the book I was constantly jerked out of the narration as the words and the voice contradicted each other. for example, the book read .... I said flatly, while the narration used a lilting tone with an uptalk intonation.
between a mediocre plot and terrible narration, I am done with the series
meh
