A great listen!

Maybe. I enjoyed the story and he narration.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked this story and I didn’t expect to when I realised when it was set. Historical stories are a genre that I generally avoid.
The main 2 characters are likable and in their own way they are strong. They have both experienced being judged cruelly.
Jimmy was banned from playing professional baseball for 5 years for being wrongly accused of illegal gambling.
Jimmy encourages Evelyn to accept that the person she is and like that person. He shows her not just that it is ok to enjoy sex. He helps her accept that she is not the disgrace that her preacher father and husband were convinced that she was.

Roz Lee writes of a pain from being belittled and shamed and made to feel that she is going to hell purely for finding sex pleasurable.
The author addresses the older belief that a woman should have sex only to please her husband and get pregnant.
Roz shows that the right person can help heal the damage that other people have inflicted and help view themselves in a more positive light.
The sex is well described and written in a way that even though it is a dom/ sub sexual setting, there is an element of romance and respect.


Jay Harper narrates this story so well! He makes it clear who is talking without overly changing his voice which is a big positive because the story flows so well. He narrates the sexual scenes really well, he has a talent for making them flow with the same skill that he makes during every other part of the book.

Couldn’t turn it off

This is a well written erotic romance that grasped my attention as soon as I started listening. I’ve listened to romances in the past but never a historical one and wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was hooked on the narrators southern twang that took me right into that church revival!! It was exciting to see a baseball player and switchboard operator learn so much about each other and their sexual desires.
I fell in love with Jimmy Doyle right away although questioned if such a perfect man could exist.
The narrator did an awesome job keeping me interested throughout the book and not just during the eroticism.
He kept me so intrigued that I listened at home, gym and in my car!

Great Read

Suspended Game was a good read by Roz Lee. Jimmy Doyle Walker has spent the last five years proving his innocence in a gambling scene. He is now on the field for the Washington Diplomats. He has to spend the next season demonstrating that he can still contribute to the team. He meets Evelyn Gardner and he risks everything to show her delight. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

the book was incredible and very good the characters were profound and interesting the Romans story was well built I love every second of the book I enjoyed it very much the narrator did a great job for the story a very enjoyable book to have

Suspenseful!

Roz has a good story with characters that are sweet and devoted to each other. I loved the main theme that it’s alright to enjoy sex. It was not a very sex positive time during the time period this story takes place so I appreciate the characters exploring that aspect of their relationship. I also enjoyed the setting and could see it in my mind as being something that could have happened during the time period. I give it a 4/5!

For the narration I think Harper did a great job with these characters! Sometimes guys don’t voice women well, but he did an excellent job making them distinct and sound natural! I also appreciated his tone and the overall audio production. It was smooth and clear! I give it a 5/5!

pretty good

I loved Jimmy and Evelyn from the start, and enjoyed their romance! The narrator did a great job with the voices and bringing the characters to life and I can not wait till the next one
