Publisher's summary

A brutal murder, a suspect in jail, and an execution planned - but what if the wrong person is about to be killed?

When a fellow US Marshal asks Anita Blake to fly to a tiny community in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on an emergency consult, she knows time is running short. When she arrives, there is plenty of proof that a young wereleopard killed his uncle in the most gruesome and bloody way possible. As the mounting evidence points to him, a warrant of execution is already under way.

But something seems off about the murder, and Anita has been asked for her expert opinion on the crime scene. Despite escalating pressure from local cops and the family’s cries for justice for their dead patriarch, Anita quickly realizes that the evidence doesn’t quite add up.

Time is against Anita, as the tight-knit community is up in arms and its fear of supernaturals is growing. She races to uncover the truth and determine whether the Marshals have caught the killer or are about to execute an innocent man - all in the name of justice.

Twists, Turns and Startling Conversations!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I found myself laughing at the shear amount of embarrassing conversations at Anita's expense! Sucker Punch also has plenty of mystery, danger and A LOT of sexual tension! Only complaint is no Jean Claude😢

A change is gonna come

The story seemed to drag on. However there are portions especially the end that could foretell a new direction in the books. These new elements could be Anita& Olaf's relationship , Edward a shape shifter. and his role as the leader of the 4 horsemen and Anita's career.

Loved it! Back to Anita’s origins

I love the Anita Blake series and Sucker Punch felt like we were getting back to focus on Anita for the first time in a while. It was very refreshing. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the books. But, it was nice to not focus so heavily on her sex life and get some quality hunting/Marshall action. I definitely recommend reading this one. Also, Kimberly Alexis is the perfect narrator for this series. Her voice for Anita commands the perfect attitude and spunk we all expect from Anita.

A good one

This one is good Anita has gotten control of the ridiculousness from the last few books. Makes me impatient for the next one though.

Sucker Punched was as riveting and engaging as all the Anita Blake series. At first I was a little worried that the action wasn’t as intense but low and behold it cranked right up and had me on my toes.I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE INTERACTION BTWN OLAF AND ANITA
I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. Ed/Ted was on point as well.GOSH! I can’t believe it’s over and I’m already planning my next day off to read it again.Thank you Ms. Hamilton for sharing your talent with the world. We appreciate all that u write. I KNOW I DO

This one leaves so much room for a number of different ways to consider another book or three!! I am always so upset when a book ends, but I will be waiting patiently for the next!!!

One of the best in the Anita Blake series

If you follow this series, you there are a few of the past novels that seemed repetitive and seemed focus on the characters relationship’s without any actual plot. This new novel was refreshing and had a fantastic story line. We are able to focus on Anita’s marshal status and catch a glimpse of potential changes with her career and possible relationship with Otto. However this novel dose not have a lot is interaction between Anita and her primary relationships. Overall I found this to be one of the most enjoyable books in the series.
