Great, but abridged

I expected this was the full version but noticed some missing segments. Kimberly Alexis does a much better job than the original voice talent.

Paranormal Entities Galore

This is a solid start to the lengthy Anita Blake series. Anita is a multi talented, fiesty young woman with multiple resources to help her fight supernatural crime. An investigator by day and an animator by night, she is often called in by the local police department to assist with their otherworldly investigations. Her reputation for slaying vampires does not seem to deter the city's master vampire, Jean Claude, from pursuing her. This is a solid recipe for excitement, mystery, action, and paranormal intrigue.

Personally, i am 5 books into the series and planning to purchase more. I believe there are close to 20 novels in total. One of my favorite details in this series is that the story takes place in St. Louis, Missouri - my home town! Laurell Hamilton often incorporates various St. Louis neighborhoods in her writing. Imagining my city overrun with vampires, zombies, and ghouls is a unique listening experience!

All go, no break

This was a fun enough romp, but the action is a little haphazard and doesn't really turn off, leaving you with few times to just enjoy quiet story development. There were quite a few times when the action happens so randomly it took me by surprise and I had to rewind to figure out what was going on.

Voice

I really like her voice for Anita. But I don’t like her voice for the male parts. Overall it was very good.

I really enjoyed revisiting this book.

I already read this book years ago and enjoyed it very much. So, to hear it as an audiobook was quite a treat for me. I enjoyed the performance very much.

Long time Anita Blake fan

I am a long time fan of the Anita Blake series. I’ve read every book, and now I’ve got the audible versions to re-listen to them while I work out. The narration is good except the accents are off for a few of the main characters. Like Edward/Ted is off.

Great audiobook!!

Loved how this book was read and the music enhanced some of the scenes. Had a slightly theatrical feel.
