Publisher's Summary

Cara Snow is newly divorced, stuck working for a jerky boss at a pet boutique, and dreading her soon-to-be-empty nest with only her beloved corgi for company. Worse still, her ex just got engaged. Doesn’t she deserve some romance, too? Or, at least a date for the Fur Ball. She’s always enjoyed the annual pet rescue gala, but this year her ex will be there with his fiancée. Meanwhile, Cara hasn’t met anyone— other than the irresistible dogs at the boutique’s adoption events.

Cara is shocked when her wish to fall for a man as easily as she does for those mutts summons Vincent. His velour track suit, paunchy belly, and tough-guy accent don't exactly fit her childhood image of a fairy godfather. Not exactly on top of his game, he admits to being twenty-five years late. (Her daughter Winnie is convinced he must be there for her!) Vincent does his best and casts a spell "guaranteed" to help Cara find the One. But when she actually starts meeting men, none of them are her type. If only they were as perfect for her as the dogs they adopt. Did her screw-up fairy godfather botch the spell? If so, what will it mean not only for Cara but Vincent as well?

Very practical and sweet modern fairy tale.

Well read easy to listen to. I enjoyed the down to earth nature of the story. Character was easy to understand and sympathize with. Plus dogs and puppies. What more could be asked for.

A light and a captivating story

This book is a true spin an Cinderella. The fairy godfather is so funny. The supporting characters of the dogs is great. I love dogs and her use to help the story along is fantastic. Poor Cara has gone through a divorce hence the fairy godfather instead of the usual godmother. He is clueless which is hilarious. The narrator is great. She narrate both male and female voices very well. This book is so enjoyable I recommend listening to it..I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Adorable cute story

This was such a cute and adorable story about Cara who is now a single mom that’s been down on her life because of her husband leaving her. The main things that have kept her going was her dog and her daughter. Than she gets a godfather who makes a spell to help her find happiness and love again.

A fun and sweet romantic story!

It a sweet romantic story about Cara and her fairy godfather. This present day fairy tale has a more modern day spin on it. I have never been a pet person but enjoyed listening to this book. This heart warming story will make you fall in love with the characters and pets.
The narrator did an excellent job with the characters and voices.
I recommend this book because it’s a fun and sweet romance.

such a sweet story!

This is such a sweet story. plus a light read. It's kind of like Cinderella, in modern-day twist and instead of the stepmother and a prince she gets a dog, god father, who I adored btw,
not a god mother.
All the relationships were enjoyable.

The narrators voice works well as the narrator because her voice can sound both male and female which suits the characters, and does great with a few accents she has to do.

Very cute, exciting story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. This was a very enjoyable story. It was a fast moving, cute, adorable, funny book. It is almost a fairytale. I think many of us can see ourselves in Cara Snow. Her love of dogs and the importance they play in this book is fun. The narrator did a good job with the characters and their personalities, to include the animals.

An excellent book

I am a dog lover ( I have 3) so any cover with a dog on it will attract my attention. But this book surprised me because the story went where I didn’t expect it would. I did not expect fairy godfather involvement. The story is excellent and , for me, very relatable. The narrator is awesome and managed different voices and different dialects very well.

This voluntary review. I was given a free copy of this audiobook.

Cute heart warming story

This isn't my normal read but it was such a cute light-hearted story, I really fell in love with the characters. And I have a soft spot for anything puppy rescue related so that definitely added to the appeal.

What a fun and unique romantic comedy!

I absolutely enjoyed listening to this fun story! I could totally relate to Cara! I’m not even a dog person but I loved all the heartwarming dogs and humor. I do love animals and enjoy listening to stories which include them in such an fun way.

This is such a unique story. Definitely different than anything I have read. To have a fairy godfather that is way late in her life and confused about how to cast the right spell for her is quite humorous. This is an awesome light read!

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

Vincent is such a fun character and the story sucked me in from the beginning to conclusion. This is kind of a fun modern fairytale for moms that are soon to go thru empty nest. Cara has gone thru a recent divorce and is feeling upset because her ex is already engaged to someone.

This is a fast paced story with great characters and a HEA conclusion.

I’m looking forward to reading more books by this talented author.

Fun and Sweet!

I was captivated by this magical listen. Both the author and narrator were new to me. I so enjoy it when I discover a winning combination. Part of this book was laugh out loud funny (fairy godfather Vincent) and the antics of the pups. I enjoyed the total escapism of this delightful listen. The story has some fairytale elements with a fun twist. The narrator added much to the enjoyment of this book with her enthusiasm and distinguished voices for various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Absurdly funny modern fairy tale!!

This audiobook breaks the usual fairy tale expectations. Care Snow is a divorcee 40 plus year old woman who accidentally summons her fairy godfather, Vincent. He isn't anything like Cinderella'a godmother. Firstly he shows up when Cara was in the shower. Then, he mis-cast the love spell for Cara. And he uses her dog as a fairy steed.

Things get interesting from there. There are old school friends, the ex-husband's new fiance, a horrid boss, a formal ball and plenty of adorable puppies up for adoption. Cara' s journey to love isn't what one expects but the outcome is totally worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the absurdity of the story! If Jackie Bouchard's intention was to make the reader laugh, she certainly succeeded.

Stray Magic

This is the second book that I've read from the team of Jackie Bouchard and Aisling Gray and definitely my favourite of the two! The story was like a warm hug with likeable characters and lovable dogs. I was apprehensive at first that the fantasy element might override the story but it was perfect; not too subtle but also it in no way overwhelmed the story. The narration was brilliant and really bought the story to life. I'm so pleased I listened to this book and will be looking out for any future releases!

This book was given to me free of charge in exchange for a review.

Cute

I thought the story was good, but not my usual read.
I thought there was too much surrounding.the dogs rather than an actual romance, and I found myself skipping forward a little though the details regarding the Posh Pooch. As the book is about a magical wish, I felt there was very little regarding this.
I received the audiobook for an honest review.

What a lovely book!

I really enjoyed listening to this book ... but then it does have dogs and magic in it!
Jackie Bouchard is a new author to me but I will definitely be reading/listening to more of her books. It was heart warming and made me smile. Aisling read it well and made the characters come to life.

Unique love story!

I enjoyed this take on a modern fairy tale, with puppies! It was such a cute twist to see Cara fall in love with every rescue at the store and how that helped them find forever homes! Her dating exploits were quite humorous as well! The narration was great and I liked the ending!!

Funny

The humour throughout is great, the storyline was good. The characters were also good. I didn’t get the “ wow this is amazing “ feeling but the humour is great and kept me listening. I do enjoy a bit of snark in my reading/listening material.

Fun and entertaining listen

I enjoyed listening to Cara's story. It was entertaining and funny. I found myself laughing at some of the situations that came up and at some of the things that were said. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys comedic romance reads. I liked the narrator as well. She made the book come to life in a great way. I hope to listen to more books she has read and other books by this author as well.
