Eager Fans Await Best-Selling Author Dani Pettrey's Latest Romantic Suspense

When her friend vanishes from a cruise ship, reporter Darcy St. James isn't satisfied with their explanation that she simply left her job of her own accord. Something isn't lining up, and Darcy believes the only way to find the truth is to put herself in Abby's position. Within days, Darcy learns her friend wasn't the only person to disappear mysteriously. Last summer, a woman vanished under almost identical circumstances. Gage McKenna has taken a summer-long stint leading adventure excursions for the passengers of various cruise lines that dock for a few days of sightseeing. He's surprised to find Darcy working aboard one of the ships, investigating a troubling report. Something sinister is going on and the deeper they dig the more Gage fears they've only discovered the tip of the iceberg.

Is the writer 10?

The book had some promise but it sounds more like a junior high student wrote it. There’s nothing wrong with inspiration but the author stumbles to keep scenarios looped together. I couldn’t find the mystery and the lackluster attempt at suspense was eh at best.

okay story

I really liked the story, but the pauses between chapters was way too long. They were so long that it seemed like the book stopped.

Disappointing Female lead

I couldn’t get further than chapter 12. The female reporter was too scatterbrained to be leading an investigation. I skimmed the first few sentences of every other chapter (after chapter twelve) to get to the end. The narrator was dull and bored me.

I dislike writing negative reviews because the writers put a lot of time in their work, but I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Excellent suspense

This Christian romantic suspense series has turned into a very thrilling, spine tingling story. The characters are wonderful, the religious message is eye-opening.

Refreshing!

I have read the first two books of this series and this one is even better than the first two - which is saying something! It's refreshing to read a nice, interesting, suspenseful story with a Christian message. Will read the rest of the series as well!

Satisfied

I enjoyed listening, but my review is skewed by my free trial of the Romance package. I don’t think I would have purchased the title on its own. The narrator did a good job differentiating between characters, but there were some mispronounced words that threw off the flow of listening. Overall, I enjoyed this story and the Alaskan Courage series. It challenged my geographic grasp of the world, forgetting what a small world it is and how close we are to our international neighbors.
