A Decent, Enjoyable LitRPG

I enjoyed my time in this world. It had some unique character perspectives that you don't get often. I'm also very keen on the Steampunk world/astethic. So it wasn't to hard for me to get into it at the beginning, but the story is ultimately what kept me in it. As with any series of books there are moments that feel a bit of a slog. However, I get that with some of my all time favorite books. The highs definitely outweigh those moments and I could actually see myself coming back to this story. I also have to admit I saw some of myself in Angel. He has a bit of an.... aversion to people and he was an "unusual hero" and I actually appreciate that.

I gave the story a 4 star, but it was really like a 4.25.

Fun experience with great narration

I loved the old world vs new world magic aspect. I enjoyed the thriller race to the end as well.

Decent

The story was pretty damn good, but the timeline with how quickly relationships formed felt weird. Overall though, I enjoyed and would recommend.

very impressive

I received this audiobook free, in exchange for a review, and regret that I may of never have experienced this if I hadn't. Additionally I want to state that I have only completed the first book in this collection and I am part way through the second book, but everything I've enjoyed about the first has continued through and I feel guilty for not reviewing sooner.

This adventure is very well written. The characters are constantly learning something new, being thrown into a new situation and facing new challenges. The story is constantly moving at a good pace, never dragging. There's mystery about events that have happened in the past for this setting that the story doesn't sillily explain. A war, Old World Magic, the characters seeing the strength, powers and weaknesses of others, that's not explained in an info dump. Some of it is a bit weird to me, but I'd rather the story hint at or explain in time rather just dumping all this information on my lap.

A well done adventure to listen to with so much bang for the buck.

Enjoyable series

I liked just about everything about this book series. I liked the characters, story line, pace, and theme. the narrator was great as well.

Reviews are important

Although I like other books by Actus more than this one. It was an interesting ride. The desert theme has never really been my thing. The steampunk treasure island feel to the world was interesting though. The ending I was not a huge fan of but that is how these things go. In the end it was a book series I enjoyed and would recommend.

The storyline

I thought the connection between all the characters was awesome. The world building was great and alot of variables to make the whole story.

loved the twist the betrayal and the forgiveness

this book is a roller coaster and I love it the magic/ruins are the main focus and yet are almost never feel like the main point cause we care about the characters more

Awesome bundle

Great bundle story well worth the credit was solid and really enjoyed it. If you enjoyed actus works you will definitely enjoy this one too!
