A Star Wars proper! Must read for everyone

There are not enough word to describe how awesome this book is.

Once I started I could not put it down. Very enthralling, entertaining, and captivating.

I laugh a lot, I shed some tears, I held my breath, I gasped, and I laugh some more!

All and all great book for everyone, from kids to adults, from hardcore fans to people that have never heard of Star Wars.

Great book from cover to cover. The art is fantastic and exactly what the book was conjuring in my mind as I read it.
Jim Cummings is amazing as Hondo and Hondo as Han Solo. brought this book to an even higher level

Highly recommend to listen the audiobook as you also read STAR WARS PIRATE'S PRICE.

Brilliant performance makes story inconsequential

The story isn't amazing but Hondo is just so endearing. Definitely for TCW fans. It's divided into three quite separate stories, the last two of which are quite short. I would have preferred just one larger narrative. The first and longest story is absolutely the best, has a good mystery/heist flair. Anyways, I really loved how it referenced and appealed to all eras. Prequel era obviously with Hondo, but eventually it reaches the sequel era and appeals to those fans. It ties in explicitly with the Disneyland Star Wars area. I really recommend the print version to be read alongside the audio because Jim doesn't differentiate Hondo's voice from the other characters' voices very well so without reading along, it's sometimes confusing to tell if Hondo is talking dialogue, narration, or someone else entirely, because the book is also first person, so 90% of the narration is in Hondo's voice even if it isn't in quote marks. This is why the text is helpful, to see quote marks stopping and starting. And really, I'd have it no other way. It's a brilliant production. We only got maybe a dozen episodes that had Hondo in them over the years, amounting to maybe 15 total minutes of voice lines? To get 5 hours straight is a dream come true to anyone who grew up with The Clone Wars or even Rebels, and is also great for sequel trilogy fans, and it is a great idea to read/listen to it if you plan on attending the Disneyland attraction, for background story.

More Hondo, please.

I would gladly listen to Hondo (at least as voiced by Jim Cummings) tell a great many tales. While some of the star wars books I've listened to in recent years have been slightly painfully earnest - this book captures the fun of Star Wars better than anything I've heard in a while.

Heck - I'd enjoy hearing Hondo's retelling of other stories (Prequels please!) just to get them in this voice and vibe.

And to the people complaining about the "not so great" voices for Chewie and Han - I'm pretty sure that was part of the point. Cummings wasn't doing a "bad impression" - he was doing an excellent impression of Hondo not even trying to do a convincing impression of them.

Wonderful. And thank you.

If I could give all 3 categories 6 stars I would

The narrator was INCREDIBLE. The story was charming, fun and hilarious.

I love how Hondo currently is the last owner of the Millennium Falcon and how it ties to Black Spire!

I Could Listen to Hondo's Stories All Day!

This book is basically like sitting in a bar talking to Hondo in person and listening to him tell a tale 5 hours long of his daring adventures. Would absolutely recommend for any and all fans of Hondo Ohnaka!

Hondo isn't Mark Thomspons but he will do

Hondo was decent with his impersonations of Han. At least I wasn't hit by a bus today.

Good acting, weak plot

The story started off pretty strong, but fizzles pretty quickly once things jump into the Sequel era. The ending makes pretty much no sense and is VERY contrived. This is another installment of “Han is Dumb” which seems to be a trend with the new canon books, and though he is the butt of a lot of jokes in the films, he’s never just an idiot. Homer Simpson in space seems to be the new theme for Han - it makes you wonder if the people writing this have even seen the movies sometimes.

Jim Cummings is incredible as Hondo and with general narration, but the rest of his character voices leave something to be desired (even as Hondo doing impressions).

Entertaining and Immersive

Excellent voice acting, sounds and music. The tales told were amusing, with many allusions and callbacks to the movies, The Clone Wars, Rebels, and other works.
