Publisher's summary

The exciting conclusion of the ‘Seasons of Man’ Trilogy.

A year and a half has passed since the defeat of Charlottesville. The idea of an actual future is starting to take root among the survivors.

Jason and Rachel have found a semblance of peace with a family. Pro has found a calling and Pavel has found a place to call home. A dangerous enemy, flying the Stars and Stripes from across the Appalachians has turned their attention to Potomac and everything the survivors have built.

Colonel Skirjanek’s fledgling Atlantic League and his Marines are going to be asked to defend not only themselves, but a free future. In the background, Mother Nature decides to get in on the act and delivers a new threat from a half a world away.

The story from the first book is gone

This series went from a character driven post apocalyptic novel to an uninspiring military strategy novel.

great series

if this was the end of the series it did it. honestly this story was an extention to the main story line and felt more as fan service to finish out the character lines. doesn't mean it was not a good listen.

if this is the last book it could end here and I would be satisfied. if the author reads this, keep it up, your first book in this series was absolutely killer. more work like this in the same universe bringing in people from other areas from the beginning of the virus would satisfy my desire to hear more about this universe, but flow with your own ideas.

Absolute Masterpiece

Amazing send off to the series. The last hour was an emotional roller coaster, damn near had me in tears. I’m very excited to see what Anderson has planned next!

Excellent story, excellent characters

Not many books have characters that make you feel vested in their story. This book does.

Great overall series

Great book to listen to. The narrator was excellent!

One issue: just like every other post-apocalyptic story - the main person/group just “walks into” all the survival food, gear, and weapons you could ever ask for.

Hopefully, somebody will write a book from the vantage point of - disaster hits and what does the “average” prepper do?

I’m loving the series

It’s great to get a series that has characters with real emotions and believable motivations.

Thoughtfully presented

Great character development, excellent dialogue, engrossing story lines and hopeful ending. I found this to be a repeat listen and have enjoyed it several times.

Brilliantly paced finale!

Book three of The Seasons of Man offers a thrilling conclusion to the trilogy. Featuring the masterful pacing of its two predecessors, Standing at the Gate offers an emotional close to the story as we see our heroes fight for their survival against a foe with superior numbers. Jay Snyder again narrates with incredible voice work, individually breathing life into a wide-range of characters and helping the story come alive. Highly recommended!

only got better

This series kept me engaged all the way to the end. There were several characters that I wish had been more focused on in book 3, but it was a great conclusion to the series.
