Publisher's Summary

From internationally best-selling author and “rising star of Southern fiction” (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times best-selling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.

With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can’t help but feel like it’s all a little too good to be true.

Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can’t quite put her finger on is worrying her - and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.

When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff - one who has the potential to wreck Ansley’s happiness and one who could tear Emerson’s world apart - everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.

With Kristy Woodson Harvey’s signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a “Southern writer with staying power” (Booklist).

Not for me...

I really tried to like this book, but I found myself rolling my eyes the whole time that I just couldn't finish. If you are into chick-lit you will love this series, but it was a no for me.

excellent

If this is the end of this series the story ended well. I felt like everything was wrapped up with all the characters except Caroline. Will she come back??

One narrator is annoying

I have really enjoyed this series. The story has been fun and interesting to follow, and I like how it moves from character to character, so that the reader gets to know each one. I am a loyal fan of this author. However, I had a hard time getting through the audio version of this book? Due to one of the narrators. I find Rebekkah Ross’s reading to be annoying. I was terribly distracted, on a constant basis, by her finishing words that ended in “ing”, She almost ALWAYS says them with an “een”. Example: walking, cooking, speaking, planning, dancing, sound like walkeen, cookeen, speakeen, planneen..... just horrible. Southern women do not speak with this gross mispronunciation. I found it impossible to overlook. I increased the audio speed of her chapters, just to finish them faster, because I was intrigued by the story. But the habitual problem with “ing” words could still be heard. Only at a faster clip. I have concluded that I will avoid all audiobooks read by her in the future.

Sappy

Enjoyed book 1 but as I progressed through 2 & 3 I got less and less interested. Pretty predictable but probably would make a good hallmark movie. Janet Metzger narration kept me listening. 5 stars for her.

Narrators

The narrator for Emerson is wonderful! Her voice is soothing and pulls the listener into Emerson’s story. However, the narrator for Ainsley was difficult to focus on for the story. There is a harsh quality to the tone with no variations on the other characters in these chapters.

Satisfying conclusion to trilogy

I have enjoyed each Audible version of the Peachtree Bluff trilogy. The narration has been spot on for each character.
