This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!

I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.

Hilarious, emotional, and heartfelt romance!

I really enjoyed this irresistible romance! Anna felt blindsided when her military husband left her. Now she is trying to work, go back to school and find a new life for herself. She has a crazy meet cute with a southern charmer, but Anna is late for class and leaves him behind. When they meet again, the sparks fly. Anna is determined to do things on her own, and Jackson is determined to be there for her. Anna doesn't want to fall for a military man, and Jackson doesn't want to settle down. I loved the push/pull between them and their sizzling chemistry is palpable. My heart broke for Anna as she struggled to find her way, but soared as she learned to let go of who she thought she should be, and become her authentic self. Jackson was so sweet, caring, and patient with Anna and her quirks, and his family also, making me swoon over his southern charm. I fell hard and really cared for both of them, as I cheered for their HEA. I also loved their friends and family who were so fun and meddlesome, and added so much heart to this story.
I was completely captivated by Emma Wilder's performance, and the way she developed and expressed these characters, and their struggles so intimately, making each character come alive. She made this hilarious, emotional, and heartfelt romance even better.
