It was good.

I enjoyed this audiobook. It comes off as a good first novel. If the author continues to improve their craft I will look forward to their future works. That said, it was good but not great. For me the inner turmoil was a bit ham-fisted and could have used a bit more nuance and subtlety. The narration was adequate but I felt like the narrator, while skilled, was not always a great match for the material.

All in all it was definitely worth the credit, but there’s room for improvement.

Duel axe, flame weilding corruption cleanser.

Mc having reincarnated after fighting a fire is thrust into an empire on its last days. With corruption incursions appearing all over this realm and an empire besiged by corruption both within and without the mc has to pass through a gauntlet of political intrigues and attempted assassinations. In the process he gains a better understanding of his power that seems able to cleanse the corruption that seems might place the mc's new world into an apocalypse.

Not bad, not great

I enjoyed the story, but it wasn’t good enough for me to rush out and get the next book in the series. I’ll probably get it, but not today.

Great start to a promising series

This is an interesting isekai litrpg from a firefighters perspective. Consistent progression and a plot with plenty of twists and turns.

Gripping Character Development

I’ve had a hard time stopping to get a bite to eat once I started listening to this book! There is so much depth to the world created in this book and I’m always on my toes to find out what’s going to happen next. I’ve enjoyed the quippy chapter titles and am excited to see who Tilly becomes. I would highly recommend this read!
