Publisher's summary

Fueled by memories of a fallen world and revenge, Nick takes on a quest to take down the all-powerful [Admin]. Armed with nothing more than his grit, his experience, and an unyielding will, his every decision becomes a high-stakes gamble in a world changed by the coming of the system.

Powerful and otherworldly foes obstruct his path, their strength formidable enough to pulverize any ordinary man. But Nick is far from ordinary. He embodies humanity's best hope to overcome the catastrophe known as System Fall and to challenge the [Admin].

This is more than a fight for survival. It's a battle for redemption, a rebellion against the system, and a quest to rewrite destiny. Can Nick surpass the limits of being human, outmaneuver his enemies, defy the [Admin], and carve a new path for humanity?

Enjoyed this one very much.

Looking forward to book #2. Thoroughly entertaining and thought provoking. Better than most in this genre.

Sleeper ..

I wasn’t expecting such a good listen. Hopefully this storyline and plot progresses in the next book. This story is so much more than just stats and levels.

A game

The admin

I had a hard time thinking about some things about this genre, and I have listened to many a book on this genre .

I never thought about it from the angle of the players against the system, only about how they got stronger, and I’m kind of disturbed who might be pulling the strings in this series

Bad

He whines about groups then lets a group latch. I don’t understand the explanation and expectation of him being alone and the. Stuck with a team that he is explaining everything too. Way more then what’s needed. It was slow due yo the set up and it’s just an annoying time listening to people constantly question him about things he knew.

The author was trying to hard to sound profound but it came off as just trying too hard. Everything was overly dramatic even though he dulled it with a slow moving crowd holding back the MC.

The reward system made no sense. He would barely do anything. Killing just regular mobs and get nice items. But a boss that paralyzes people with a stare and all he gets is another surprise fight. It was inconsistent and poorly thought through. Just basic stuff like that was overlooked.

This sucked

The premise is alright, story started okay. It all turned to crap after the first event. Who the hell wants a MC that’s all “I’m trying to save the day, but I’ll let everyone die anyway.” It’d be one thing if he was a lone wolf, but he pretends to be and hangs around people anyway…. Like what the hell?

Meh

Not like his other book of similar situation. This mc keeps stating hes a loner but keeps meeting up with a group they don’t interact well and I kept waiting for him to ditch them . I don’t know if he eventually ditched them because I stopped listening 1/2 way through He spent too much time with them and aside frim the dungeon not much happens. Kinda like my review

meh

with the price I had hoped for so much more. But the author didn't really keep a very cohesive character. the mc seemed to constantly going back and forth, not in a character internal struggle sort of way, but a poorly written way.

annoying

the entire book is this emotion less jackass trying to play philosopher. he keeps talking to himself about how he needs to fix the future but then refuses to do anything for anyone else the entire book.
