The discovery of an enchanted heirloom sends a poor farm boy on a journey to master magic and vanquish evil in this epic LitRPG fantasy series.

Eighteen-year-old Callum Stross never asked to become a hero. Struggling through a brutal harvest alongside his father, he's more concerned with surviving the season than reliving ancient wars.

But when a devastating aetherstorm strikes, Callum is forced to seek shelter in a cursed manor, where he discovers a dormant Aethercore tied to the bloodline of the legendary Demonslayer. The core fuses with his soul, awakening latent power and binding him to Fen, a mana-bound fox who claims Callum is the Reborn Heir meant to finish what his ancestor started.

With demonic aetherbeasts rising once more and warlocks spreading corruption through forbidden Demoncores, Callum must travel to New Albion to uncover the truths hidden in the Archive of Destiny. There, in the capital's elite Great College, nobles train to manipulate mana, fuse shards, and wield legendary Powercores. But even they are unprepared for the impending storm.

To survive, Callum must rise through the ranks of a complex system, deepen his bond with Fen, and unlock the secrets buried in his bloodline. Because the Second Demonswar is coming—and this time, no one's ready.

The story was in grossing, I liked the magic system and the main character was not over the top OP.
The narrator and the story just clicked together.
I will be waiting for book 2.

Very Good Writing and Narration

2 great authors combine

it wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't particularly unique either. Hero's journey attached to light litrpg.

very formulaic

Luke and Harmon??!
This was bound to be magic and it was.
great characters, great action scenes, amazing world building.
there didn't need to be a plot and I would have been happy, but boy howdy is there a plot

Yes!

I listened to the story. I should have checked the reviews or something but I like some of the author's other work. Clean coming of age story. Predictable

Young Adult Book

story fell flat, painfully annoying how stupid MC was, when asked a simple question or given a directive during important time restraint times, he stops and repeated the question dumbly. He also repeated the directives like a question instead of action. I don't mind a weak MC but a stupid one is frustrating.

could've been good

I love litrpg. I've purchased over 700+ novels on audible and purchase extra credits on a whim twice a month. I've spent my credits on some really bad books but a disproportionate amount of those books are Luke Coopers. His writing style is clunky, repetitive and highly unoriginal. This book shows him leaning into his faults to a point that it makes the book borderline unlistenable.

every single piece of dialogue is repeated right after it is said by another character. aside from robbing every character of any shred of intelligence, this habit makes the audible experience with this book terrible. the repetition might be forgivable in book format but as an audiobook its grating and very noticeable.it's almost like someone is paying attention to word count and is trying to get it over a specific number.

Luke Cooper destroys another decent novel

Shocked because I loved Luke’s earlier books. This is boring sorry no desire to plod through

Just not good
