Publisher's Summary

Trapped in the game. Forced back to level 1. What's next, permadeath?

Sky Realms Online is the largest and most popular Virtual Reality MMORPG ever made. Set amongst the mystical, floating islands of Hankarth, it's played and enjoyed by millions every hour.

Until something goes wrong.

Unable to log out, players find themselves reduced to level one, and in the starting zones. They receive a cryptic message from the developers stating that for unknown reasons, they are trapped in the game and may have to live out their lives within the virtual world.

Hall is one of the those trapped in the game. He’s been playing Sky Realms Online as a spear-wielding Skirmisher ever since the beta. And instead of panicking as many do, he decides to make the most of it; to play the game and live his new life, all while quietly hoping the developers will find a fix.

It doesn’t take Hall long to find out that, while some aspects of the game are the same, the difficulty level is beyond anything he's ever experienced.

Together, with a new party of trapped players and NPCs with canned answers, Hall will find out just how different Sky Realms Online has become, and how playing a game is different from living the game....

Experience the start of this unforgettable LitRPG Adventure today! It's perfect for fans of J.A. Hunter, Dakota Krout, and Edward Brody.

Performed by Pavi Proczko, narrator of Eden's Gate and Continue Online.

Sky Realms Review

Great otherworld book with a lot of details for the game they're stuck inside of. The narrator did a good job seperating characters with his voice.

Great RPG Online Fantasy

I got this book for my son because he has gotten into D&D and other RPG. He's already listened to it twice. The story is a about a 30 yr old guy who was one of the original beta testers for an online fantasy roleplaying game. There is an update that somehow pulls the consciousness of the players into the game, resets them to level one and traps them. So the players have to work to level up to keep themselves safer while the game developers are working to get them out. It's a pretty fast-paced story with lots of action and lots of questions to figure out as they play and try to stay alive. On a morality note, I would say probably PG13, there is some language but no f-bombs, and there is the normal action violence but nothing too descriptive. The narrator did a great job with the acting, voices and made it even more entertaining to listen to.

Perhaps the most compelling lead of a LitRPG novel

Hall is a hugely compelling main character, and is supported by very believable and well-drawn characters, including a wonderful NPC, all coping as best they can in challenging and very new circumstances...even the NPC who doesn't have their problems is venturing into the unknown and quite worried about it. Honestly, I adjusted my life to keep reading this, got a lot of decluttering done while I listened to the excellent narration of Pavi Proczko. I loved this book and look forward to the sequels. Excellent writing, Troy Osgood! Each character was given their own unique and belieavable life through Troy Osgood and Pavi Proczko.

Really enjoyed this book

I haven't really listened to LitRPG before, though I enjoy RPG games and thus wanted to try the genre out finally. I might have just gotten lucky, getting such a good one on my first outing, not sure. But I enjoyed pretty much everything about this book. It was very immersive and I had a hard time turning it off. The characters were interesting, and the narrator was top-notch. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Solid Litrpg

I have read a ton of Litrpg as a lot of people have. If you like the leveling and statistics this book will not disappoint. Slow leveling that the mc and group have to work for. A few attractive elements includes thought out characters with reactions to them stuck in the game. Also the story wasn’t everywhere. Sure some events will unfold in future books but, completing the quests that drove the story kept me reading and satisfied. The ending wrapped it up nicely and the epilogue will definitely bring me back for book 2. Of course I got it on audible. The narrator did very well bringing the characters alive. Well worth a credit to chance on for a month or buying that tempting 3 credit deal. Win in my opinion.

Sky Realms Online

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I looked at my phone with 1.5 hours to go and was sad that it was almost over! I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't perfect, and sometimes it was hard to keep track of bouncing POVs but once I relaxed a little bit it was really a pleasure to listen to. I can't wait to listen to book 2!

Ready for book 2

My first book in the fantasy Lit RPG genre. The story is well told and I really enjoyed it. The details are incredible and the story moves at a very good pace. I do wish the book touched on more about the origins of how this happen so we could see an end game. Otherwise bring on book 2!!!

True LITRPG

This was a good book with true LITRPG elements. It includes player stats, weapon stats, etc. Some books have a hard time reading them out, but this book did a good job with them. I enjoyed the story, but would have liked to find out what is actually going on with their bodies. Maybe the next book will go more into their circumstances. Narration was great, each character had their own voice and was easy to understand. I received this book for free for my honest review.

Epic Adventure

Great story and engaging narration! MC was experiencing some serious lag while playing a vrmmorpg and wakes up to find out that he is now trapped in a virtual world (or is it Real?) and 2 years have passed. Finding out that things have changed greatly from what he knew - he must now decide how to face an uncertain future. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more in the series. Well worth a credit.

Great start to a new Litrpg

Osgood writes a great story about how technology we don't fully understand can change someone's life forever. Then goes about writing a story of friends and adventure full of magic and intrigue. I enjoyed the story immensely. Proczko does a great job of giving the characters life as well as their own their own voices. I look forward to getting the next book in the series to see what the gang gets up to next. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty Good

With lots of LitRPG out there its hard to make them stand out but this one has some interesting naunces to the story. I liked how they ended up in Gameplay and as usual the interactions between NPC and Players was good as well. Narration was a little slow but 1.2 speed helped i found, and the voices were done quite well so it wouldn't put me off further narration from this Narrator Proczko. Story was pretty consistent and enjoyable so would pick up further in this series as i imagine it would pick up even further.

Great series and narration

Love this series, it has a great cast of characters, both good guys and baddies. The premise of everyone going back to level 1 but still remembering the game world really works well, especially when the world is not quite the same as what they remember. I would say the series isn't action packed, but this is good as it gives room for the story to grow and adds more depth to the story. While Hall is the mc, the author has given lots of attention to the supporting cast again adding to the overall depth. The quests are well thought out and all move the story along and of course the battles are great. While the star of the show is Troy's writing, the narration by Pavi Proczko is beautifully done. He has a relaxed tone that flows really well and compliments the author's style.

3rd Person just doesn't work and this is boring

3rd person makes the story so impersonal and hard to relate to , it makes it boring. The fight scenes are clunky and dull. I listened to 1.5 hours and gave up . I tried a 2nd time in between other book series and its just so dull. monotone prolonged detail about skinning a dear?

I was originally put off by all the stats until I got the hang of ignoring them. I hung in there as the concept was interesting and the characters good. I LOVED the cow!!

Sky realms online.

This was a brilliant 1st book in the serise, from the very beginning I was engaged, thrilled and thoroughly entertained. the whole world building is amazing, such detail. The mc is really likeable, he's laid back and not full of himself. the story is very well written, a lot of detail and creativeness. I'm looking forward to listening to book 2.

Solid LitRPG story

This is a nice mix the general LitRPG tropes and a few nice ideas. The interactions between the players and NPCs was quite refreshing. I enjoyed all the characters as they were a nice mix of different believable people having varied motivations. The quests were very in-depth than something you would get in WoW like game and did a nice job of build the story and world. The narrator gave me mixed feelings by the end of the book. The first half of the book I really loved it as it was so laid back and more of relaxed slice of life story but then later on I started feeling like it was too relaxed in his tone. He used a very monotone voice which if I wasn't focusing on the story during my walk I could suddenly have blanked on what had happened the last ten minutes as nothing really keep my attention in his voice. The leveling was a bit slower than I usually expect in these kind of books but I think the level cap seems a lot lower so level ups are few and far between. This didn't both me and quite enjoyed it over someone killing a bunch of mobs and level up 5 levels becoming overpowered quickly. The power level felt like they were always underleveled for whatever quest they were doing and gave some nice aspect of danger as we still don't know if you respawn on death. The last few chapters of the book built up a sequel quite well as I love MCs running villages/ towns and managing resources and keeping town folk happy and making the place prosperous. Overall I would recommend this book. [Note - I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.]

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to subsequent books, though I can't really qualify why. I think its just a fun world and has some issues you don't often see in litRPGs. It's easier to identify with Hall than a lot of other protagonists as he's not some 'chosen one'. He's just a regular guy and he doesn't try to be anything else. I love the fact that we're a whole book in and it hasn't started shoving sexuality and gender politics down my throat (which seems to be the norm lately). Yes there is a slight lack of direction but it's refreshing not to have the world/galaxy/universe in the balance. My one gripe is that the author leans toward being over-descriptive. I don't think the reader needs to know the shape, design, and construction materials of every table, chair, and door frame they walk past. Maybe just the poignant bits

One player DnD campaign set in a VR world.

Everyone follows the MC, The MC gets lucky again and again, MC saves the realm with his party done. I can imagine this being the entire series, It honestly doesn't even matter if a realm dies because there are literally thousands of them so no stakes, the mc has no real personality and the party is boring as well. Its an open ended world building style with shifting goal posts of level caps. I dont recommend as I gained no enjoyment from this audiobook.

Sky Realms Online

This is the first time that I listen to the work of Troy Osgood and I have to say that I enjoyed his work greatly. I found that he a talented and skilled author. And with the voice acting talents and skills of Pacific Proczko who makes the characters and world come alive with the narration.
