Ragnarok is near and the Vikings of Midgard have failed to uphold their duty to prevent it. With time running out, the All-Father Odin himself, searches all the worlds for one last warrior who might hold back the destruction threatening Nine Realms and every world created.

Magnus’s death caught the All-Father’s one good eye.

As an Army Ranger, he knew he was placing himself in the line of fire every day, and knew a day could come that cost him his life. What he didn't want was the rest of his team would be wiped out with him, the worst disaster the Rangers had experienced in decades.

Summoned before the All-Father, Magnus is given the grave news and outcome for every realm including his own.

A deal was struck, a bargain made—Be reborn in Midgard, empower himself through mystical runes, and battle Odin's foes, in exchange for his team also getting a second lease on life if Magnus should succeed.

Waking up in a small farming village in Midgard, Magnus must now train and battle, both mundane foes and the creatures out of myths and legends, in both Midgard, and the rest of the Nine Realms.

Exceptional start to a series! I’m looking forward to book 2 and beyond! Definitely worth a listen

The story was fantastic

Amazing and can’t wait for book 2. Good enough to listen to a second time if I can’t wait.

Good, but I didn't like the heavy accents

I would say this is light on the lit RPG side. The story makes good progress for one book. I'll say again though some of the accents were so hard to understand. I think they got way too much into it without thinking about how it would be to listen to.

Can’t wait for the next! When’s that coming out? Also the concept is pretty cool though I’ll admit need to go through again to pick up the little nuances I missed.

Good but had some gripes

I loved the comradere and I'd die for you attitude and all the colorful characters but where I struggled with is with the power aspect. Oden gives out a legendary rune a rune that apparently shook the 9 realms and gave every faction a excuse to start pushing and shoving at midgard's defences but it's use feels so. . . passive as it is it's just a training aide that gives unwavering accuracy and better stat growth. even a elemental rune that's below epic rarity that gets crafted later feels like it'll be way more impactful than his legendary rune. maybe when leveled up it'll show it's true worth but mostly all other runes are just stat modifiers that boost attributes and don't offer anything else like movement skills or power attacks. honestly the power system felt so restricted it's a wonder the Vikings didn't lose the war
