Publisher's Summary

It was a game, now it's his life.

The Sky Realms Online Books 1-3 Bundle is 30+ hours of epic LitRPG adventure set in a virtual world where anything can happen... maybe even death.

Hall had played the VRMMORPG, Sky Realms Online, since beta. During one gaming session, a freak accident traps Hall and other players in the game. They awaken to find out their bodies are comatose and they have been downloaded fully into the virtual world. Even worse, the rules have changed, they've been forced back to level 1, and permadeath might be possible.

Join Hall and his growing circle of friends and enemies, both Players and NPCs, as they discover that Sky Realms Online is not the same game they knew. New lands, new foes, and new mysteries.

Grayhold (Book 1): Hall finds himself trapped in the game world, but not the game that he remembered. Things have changed. Hall gets his first quests, meets his first friends, and finds what could be his future home.

Silverpeak (Book 2): Now the Lord of a ruined village, Hall takes his first steps toward turning Skara Brae into a real village. A journey to the city of Silver Peak Keep involves Hall and friends in a war between guilds.

Axestorm (Book 3): Skara Brae is growing and it's time to take the next step. Hall and companions journey to the Dwarf fortress of Axestorm Hall in search of an airship. There they encounter more mysteries and another Player, Iron, who is working to conqueror the entire island of Huntley.

Such a great series

I read these books individually and now I’m starting them over again. It’s always a good series when you can listen more than once.

hardly worth the credit

I listen to a lot of litRPGs, and I have to say this has been pretty bad. Characters are good, but the RPG math is just atrocious, left me many times thinking WTF! The entire 4 book series would have been better as a regular fantasy book, and with out the litRPG narration it would be good legnth for 2 books. Was it worth the credit, yeah, but barely, and that is only because I'm running out of books over 10 hours.

Not For Me

Some people may like this. But, it's not for me. The writing itself was lackluster. Narration was bland.

could have been better

There seems to be a lot of repetitiveness. Additionally there is no real relationship development. Instead of all the time jumps perhaps fill in that time with developing bonds between the characters. Given this is in a bundle its worth the money. I just don't think its worth purchasing then individually.

Get sucked into the game!

After recently discovering Pavi Proczko, it was a no brainer to jump on this book! I felt like this was more of a "G" rated litRPG, than I had suspected, well... I do tend to forget that fighting with swords, and battle axes maybe a bit much for some middle readers, so it might be leaning towards "PG" status... But that's not a bad thing it just surprised me!
All the players, who survived, find themselves trapped in this game, after the game crashes while they're playing, and then goes offline for 2 years! Now, without any hope of succor, Hall, who has been playing the game since beta testing, receives a final notice from the game Dev. That message pretty much said "Sorry you're stuck, and cesť la vie!" Instead of freaking out, Hall decides to just play the game, since the game is now his "reality"... Hall, finds himself demoted essentially, back to the entry level status of a new gamer! As Hall had always played as a spear-wielding Skirmisher, he decided that that would be the right choice of character, as he already knew this half-elf avatar the best. He left the tavern and bumps into another player Roxhard, who's avatar is a tanky Dwarf... they team-up and go off on their first quest, but little do they know how much the game has changed in the 2 years it had been "off line". Hall and Roxhard never looked back once they got going! I immediately became sucked into the game and Hall's storied life... I'm pretty sure that you will too, so grab the first book (Greyhold) or better yet, grab Sky Realms Online, and get the first 3 books for one credit!

Well ... meh

The story is decent for what it is. The author repeats explanations even with in the same chapter wasting time (didn’t need to be reminded why the 14 yo was in a dwarf body so much). As for the narrator his performance was bland. He sounded bored the whole way. Most of the time there’s no energy, although he does show plenty during his “system message” lines.

Good bones of a story, needed editing badly

Let me start with the narrator - he put me to sleep so many times I struggled with getting through the book. He was monotone and didn’t pause for breaks in the story, such as when it jumps ahead in time or changes scenes.
As the story has unrealized potential, a strong narrator could have lifted it to a overall 4stars whereas I’m being generous with this week 3 star review.
The story.
As I said there is great potential but the editing was sorely lacking. The MC has A LOT of rambling thought processes that take him nowhere as when he thinks he might have come to a conclusion he’ll finish it by “or does it?” or words to that effect.
I like the moral of the MC and I found myself interested in his progress as well as his pal Roxhart, but other characters were 2-dimensional, especially the women.
The story could have been half the length and still got everything that happened across, as there’s a lot of repeating thoughts, long excessive detailed descriptions of things that don’t add to the story and not enough storyline action.
Still not a bad story, just underdeveloped, and I don’t regret the 1 credit I spent on it.

leadership

when you make the main character a moron you also shouldn't talk about how he naturally became the leader?

he is the "leader" of a town.... with no population no infrastructure and no production..... out trying to make trade deals as a number 1 priority

Worth a credit

Three great titles collected into a huge omnibus. If you like litrpg then get this. It’s a steal for one credit.

a bit single-paced

I did enjoy this up to mid way thru book 2, then I just had to have a break. I found the MC to be a bit cardboard-y and I didn't enjoy the narrator at all - though he seems to be very popular - so try a sample to see how you enjoy it.

The story goes "quest, then another quest, etc" as other reviewers have mentioned, and along with the narrators flat tone, it made it hard to get too involved, and I found myself often tuning out all together.

Hmmmm

It was a pretty good read but it did go on a bit like quest after quest after quest so I mean you really have to get into witch is pretty hard and is likely to get to a point when you can’t finish it it’s appropriate for kids ages 12 plus I would say so yeah might be worth getting

Great series

e this series, it has a great cast of characters, both good guys and baddies. The premise of everyone going back to level 1 but still remembering the game world really works well, especially when the world is not quite the same as what they remember. I would say the series isn't action packed, but this is good as it gives room for the story to grow and adds more depth to the story. While Hall is the mc, the author has given lots of attention to the supporting cast again adding to the overall depth. The quests are well thought out and all move the story along and of course the battles are great. While the star of the show is Troy's writing, the narration by Pavi Proczko is beautifully done. He has a relaxed tone that flows really well and compliments the author's style.

Worthy Buy

A successful purchase and a worthy listen as i enjoy the narration on this and the characters brought to life are very likeable with a good development between quests and other relationships they have keeping this a easy listen without too many stats slowing the pace down.
Having a set of 3 also helps in the flow as there is no wait to see what else happens next always something i like in a weighty listen.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

Good for RPG lit newbies

It's an interesting twist on people balancing game and real life with good main characters and not too much blow by blow fighting. I find the stats rather repetitive but the story makes up for it. Each book leads you further along the storyline and ends with tantalising hints of future twists but each books rounds the current story off nicely.
