what a great start

right up front I recommend this book to anybody reading this review. I tend to take it easy on the 1st of any series as the beginning of anything has a tendency to be shaky. the writing was solid and the performance from the narrator was Top Notch. I'm very much interested in seeing more of this story from this author and enjoying future performances from the narrator. this author appears to have a thing for Cliffhangers. fortunately with this audiobook the volume one Cliffhanger wasn't too bad as Volume 2 was right around the corner. if you get to the end of volume two and have a desire to continue on then I've got good news as volume 3 is already out with volume four having an April release date set. the story starts with a fight followed by a betrayal and an unlikely second chance where the main character appears to seek revenge. there is a game like system that stirred up all kinds of trouble and at the moment when things could go back to normal the axe fell. the main character is an exactly at square one and his progression has garnered some unwanted attention. separating the quality of the storytelling and performance from my personal feelings for a moment. I'm not a fan of Cliffhangers and I didn't like the fact that the author killed off a number of the characters. at the end of the day though the purpose is to entertain that was certainly entertained and will be continuing on with volume three. what I'm curious about now is if every audiobook is going to cover to volumes. the gentleman States at the end of the ebook that each volume is approximately 50,000 words. regardless I will simply say Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this audiobook to us, the audible listeners.

Good story great narration

The only complaint I have is that in book 1 the mc said he got the class swordsman in his first life but in book 2 he was suddenly a theif.

Yeah this is Solo Leveling, so if you like that you'll like this and if you like this you'll like that.
That being said, it is a good story and done well.

pretty good read..

overall the title was a rather good listen. the narrator did a rather good job. first I heard him read...but far from disappointed. the story itself..honestly barely can be considered a litrpg. given the game mechanics are hardly ever mentioned....but does not detract from the story. once considered among the strongest in the world...betrayed and killed...reincarnated. is no longer considered among the strongest as while he was dead the world had advanced around him. he is still strong trying to hide his strength...but no far from strongest as the world has changed alot since he died. struggles to adapt to the changes while trying to hide till he can get his revenge.

money complaint is how short this book is. volumes 1 and 2 in the title make it sound like a long read..but it felt like the story flew by to fast...but maybe just because I enjoyed listening to it and lost track. definitely worth a read. and if the following titles are as half as good..I look forward to those as well.

I don't know why audible review states this was free, I used a credit to purchase. I enjoyed this greatly but I wish the books were a bit longer.

If you enjoy an overpowered loner MC you will love this. It's not in your face with stats either.

The narrator was very good.

I will be eagerly awaiting the continuation.

I like the story, I am a bit disappointed that the next one isn't on here. so now I'm left hanging.
I really wish that Audible would put the entire set on and not leave us hanging.
To the author, any plans on getting the rest of this story loaded? I would buy it in a heartbeat

Definitely got a younger generation. No treasures he know hidden somewhere to power up. No extra boosts or over powered. It was ok but I think I will end here.

Really basic writing but nothing bad here

To be honest the only reason this holds at 3 stars overall is the love shown to columbo ...

It's not poorly written but the plot points and dialogue all throughout are really sophomoric. It seems like it's written for (and possibly by) a high schooler early on and with not much experience.

I would say target audience would be young adult to adult.
I got this book while waiting for a book from one of the other series I am listening to not expecting much. I ended up listening non-stop. The beginning is abrupt and doesn't explain much but is short and the book really starts on chapter two.
MC has character and while he doesn't develop much, probably because he would have done that previous to this book but it works. Stuff happens easily for him but the author hints of a guiding power so it works. The systems are explained generally not getting into the weeds.
The atmosphere and world building isn't overly complicated.
Good chapter use and cliff hanger.
