Story
Swearlot Holmes of 221b is for bastard Baker Street, London. Thrill to excerpts and illustrations from many of his most curious cases such as 'The Adventure Of The Sussex Swearwolf' and 'A Foul -Mouthed Cow In Belgravia'. In these dark, surreal and expletive-ridden examples, Swearlot proves not only is he a master of deduction, but a loquaciously lewd legend to boot. Each story is inspired by the original Strand magazine sketches.

Story
It has taken over 80 years, but at long last, the British government’s embargo on reporting this slice of diplomatic history has been lifted. It was in November 1940 that a senior minister at the British foreign office in blacked-out London commissioned Holmes and Watson to go to Berlin to negotiate a prisoner of war swap with the German high command. And the price demanded by Nazi Propaganda Minister, Joseph Göbbels, for any prisoner's release? That the two work with the Berlin police to capture a serial killer who is stalking the city’s railway network.

Story
More menacing than the Menacing Moors, the Great Metropolis harbors evil and deviltry far more sinister than Dartmoor could offer - it is not for nothing that Watson describes London as the great cesspool draining the empire of its dregs. Its evil stems from the hearts of the most heartless of men, evil against which a group of stalwart Londoners is determined to act.

Story
Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel Crime and Punishment tells of two horrific ax murders in St. Petersburg. It becomes much more than a mere "account", however, when a pair of dead bodies turn up in London's East End, their heads split open by an ax blade. To Scotland Yard, the crimes are murders to solve. To Sherlock Holmes, they present an intriguing puzzle. But to the literary man, Dr. John H. Watson, they seem a deliberate restaging of the brutal murders depicted in Dostoyevsky's narrative. What can be the purpose behind an actual recreation of the fictional killings?

Publisher's summary
The director threw himself into a seat in the front row of the theater before hollering, "Start at the beginning of the play!"
That's when the magic happened.
The thick, red curtains swept apart, and, suddenly, we were looking at 221B Baker Street! It was just as I'd imagined it: there were two chairs in front of a fireplace, a skull sitting on the mantelpiece next to a stack of letters that had been stabbed into the wood with a knife. There was even a violin sitting on one of the chairs. And then, Sherlock Holmes, The Great Detective himself, came onstage, wearing a swirling cape and deerstalker hat! Beside me, Sherlock's eyes widened. "Watson, do you know what this means?" he whispered.
"No," I whispered back. "What?"
"It means," Sherlock gasped, "that Sherlock Holmes is real!"
And once again, the game was afoot!

The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. A fun mystery story with detective cats!
Sherlock Cat and the Thwarted Thespian by Heather Edwards is a children’s book and wonderful introduction to my favorite genre. My elementary (no pun intended) age grandson and I listened to this book. We both enjoyed it very much although we laughed at different things. He liked the parts with the dumpster and swinging from the cat walk. I enjoyed the Holmes similarities and clever references throughout. I particularly liked the names of Sherlock Cat’s 3 mice toys. This book and the wonderful narration succeeded in sparking an interest in mystery books in my grandson! Michael Langan always performs so magnificently that the book and characters come to life. I hope there will be more in this series for young people and their young-at-heart adults. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.
