Not at all what I was expecting from the sample

What disappointed you about Your Word Is Your Wand?

This was not a spiritual book or story, it was religious - and used words that were old English and told a message that was indecipherable. It went straight back for a refund.

What was most disappointing about Florence Scovel Shinn’s story?

I couldn't understand the words or the message.

How could the performance have been better?

Much better... different narrator and better translation of whatever the 'story' was.

Any additional comments?

The audio was so much hard work, I stopped after 15 minutes. Despite much effort I could not understand one part of it.

My favourite Florence Scovel Shinn book!

This is my favorite book of all of Scovel-Shinn's writings. It is relaxing and quick to read all in one go. Hillary Hawkins reads the text well except when she does people's accents. Her trying to imitate accents of the era is highly offensive and very off putting and the editor should not have allowed such an abomination. I have to skip over sections where Hillary Hawkins does these distracting and ugly performances because they are cringe worthy. Pity as she reads the rest of the text just fine. Therefore I own the paperback now too so I can read the sections I by-pass due to Hawkins butchering of the scene.
