We often treat the word capacity as if it were a natural law of limitation. Unfortunately most of us are much more comfortable defining what we perceive as off limits rather than what's really possible. Could it be that many of us have failed to expand our potential because we have allowed what we perceive as capacity to define us? What if our limits are not really our limits?
A brilliant, hilarious homage to The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, showing how to shed your mental clutter for good. Aimed at overachieving but dissatisfied people everywhere. Sarah's inspirational two-step 'NotSorry' program shows how unleashing the power of not giving a f**k will help you shed unwanted guilt and obligations to redirect time, energy and enthusiasm to your true priorities.
Sarah reveals why giving a f**k about what other people think is your worst enemy - and how to stop doing it; how to sort your f**ks into four essential categories; simple criteria for whether or not you should give a f**k (i.e., 'Does this affect anyone other than me?'); and the two keys to successfully not giving a f**k without also being an asshole.
So, get rid of the mental clutter, ditch the perfectionism and create the life you want - for good.
Sarah Knight seems cool, and i dont hate the book. but yes it could be shorter, yes it's a bit lucky white ladyish but it's good for people who are specifically looking for a bit more encouragement in letting go of guilt and being 'not sorry' as Sarah describes which is why i'm giving this 1 star, not sorry. Mostly because i'm one of those ppl that read bad reviews first, and i agree with the low reviews on this book but i still appreciated it. good thought food, not too deep though. much more preferred quiet by susan cain. i decided i was disappointed when trying to do the pdf. the exercise was hard because i just found myself contradicting myself and making things worse. for instance i was born with a great bod and i dont really give an f about eating healthy or exercising even though it looks like i do... but i want to be healthy on the inside .... so.... wha? i guess if i'm not going to do anything about it i should free myself from giving an f about it too?
the case studies are pretty underwhelming.
4 years ago perhaps this would have blown my mind. but as i said susan cain gave me way more power to be myself and liberate myself from expectations (after a unique journey of other books ofcourse like ie the secret, alchemist, deliberate receiving, etc)
But i also imagine all this resistance is self created. what if we really just don't have to give a fuck.
so all in all, if you have f all to do at work cos the boss you pa for is on holiday and you have a free credit from your amazon audible trial... have listen.
maybe i'm just a little impatient today
but i didn't appreciate the weak case studies and parenting talk, and convincing me to not give a f about what ppl think by giving me survey results of what ppl think...
can't finish it. not eye opening enough for me at the moment

I am not giving a F**k I love this audiobook! Listen to it it worth every sec of it!
The idea is great, but the narration style is very annoying. Also very repetitive, the whole book could have been written in 20 pages. I still recommend to buy it, read it or listen to it, it's worth the investment.
I love this book so much. it should be the number one guide to life.
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Teenagers maybe.
Would you ever listen to anything by Sarah Knight again?
I don't think so. Although I'm not a virgin nun for me the F... in every sentence was way too much and after a few minutes it was super annoying. Also I've expected something new and helpful but I've only heard what I had known well before.
Which scene was your favorite?
When she says that we need to learn to say NO.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Performance was great though.
This book was a great analyzation of how I live my life. There wasn't much I learned from this book as I live this way naturally. But it is a great eye opener for the regular person. And for assholes to learn, not to give a fuck while not being an asshole.
It had some good points but I think better suited for people who get walked all over and cannot prioritize simple options in life (like going or not going to the pub with coworkers). I was looking for deeper, soul changing thoughts to separate work from after work hours to improve my personal/family life. Really the only thing the book told me was to not give a f#*k and not be sorry. As mentioned it shed some enlightenment on simple things to not give a f&*k about but most of it I already don n't give a f^*k about because I have bigger issues consuming my time, money and energy on.
Any additional comments?
This is really funny. I think the narration really makes it. Some sound and basic wisdom delivered brilliantly by the author's narration.

i had high hopes for this for this book after reading the summary, but.......
all i can say is it feels like it has been written by one of the characters from Sex and The City............me, me,me,me, moan, moan moan
Its also my own fault i should have guessed from the title but she uses the F word practically every other word and afterwhile it really starts to grate.
On the positive it kind of worked, as whilts she was going on and on F this and F that and not F'ing wasting your time on things you don't care, I thought yes she is right and stopped listening

It's obvious from the title where this one was going but when it came up cheap I thought "Why not?". It doesn't take a long journey into this book to categorically answer that question. It's not that I mind the f-word or worse in books or films, that doesn't phase me. For example I think it's use at the start of "Four Weddings and a Funeral" is genuinely funny..
Here though it just gets trotted out over and over and over and over again in a book that teaches a mix of the blatantly obvious and expands it to try to make modern selfishness a kind of virtue.
If you need that kind of instruction in being mildly obnoxious and think it's the kind of life and attitude that you would be happy with then jump right in. In truth though there is nothing big and clever about this and personally I would recommend avoiding it.
I'm going to file this one safely in the right place and consider it a lesson learned.

such a simple yet untapped word/emotion that can make us change so easily.
it's amazing how many other books come with theories and methodologies that take up soo much mental space and practice that one must ask themselves "is this even working?" before going and looking for that simple yet unspoken solution.
instead of looking what you should be doing right sometimes it's better to look where you are doing wrong and just not spend any more energy - and the best part: most of us can actually smile while doing such thing while uttering "f**k it"
imagine now taking control over your life while basically redirecting all that stress/clutter into one single word and punch out that annoying thing "society" wants you to do... because God knows how many other thousand things you need to do with offending anyone in this day and age

What did you like most about The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k?
I like how it was written in a very fun style, with plenty of pop culture references.
What other book might you compare The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k to, and why?
Any book about focusing on things that bring you joy in your life will give you the same message. This book gives you the message with more cursing and bold language.
What does Sarah Knight bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I liked her voice a great deal and it made the story more personal for me.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did have a few laughs here and there.
Any additional comments?
Great book, and it will make you think about the things that mean the most to you in your life.

This book is ideal for those people who care too much about what people think.

Hilarious! And not what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a 'mock' version of Marie kondo's book, but that wasn't the case at all. I loved this book!
For anyone out there that feels you care too much about what others think of you or if you feel you spend too long doing too many things you're just not interested in. BUY THIS BOOK! It'll help.

Loved this audiobook! The advice is so easy to understand and so realistic - a ridiculous number of times I sat there thinking "I definitely do that". I found myself applying the methods early on without fully realising! Think this will be an audiobook I come back to again and again just for a gentle reminder.

I'm not sure I'm the target audience for this book. Having never worked in an office I couldn't relate to quite a bit of the book and things that apparently bother people don't really bother me. I guess I'm a natural non f#@! giver. I still enjoyed listening for a laugh though.

Great humour and straight to the point, I've started accumulating a list of things I don't give a f**k about and in doing so I'm finding so much free time =D

This well written, funny and relatable book is really motivating and inspiring. While I don't think I'll follow all teachers to the letter, it's so phenomenal that Sarah gets her readers really thinking about all the time they're wasting, with people they don't like, doing things they don't want to do. I contribute this book in part to getting me out of a really long and awful rut, and can't wait to read her other works!

didn't even bother finishing after struggling through five chapters of dribble. not even entertaining or helpful

After 2 chapters I gave up. The authors smug narration and forced humor left me cold and as far as any actual helpful advice on not giving a Fuck about things without offending anyone......we'll if you don't know how to agree to disagree or decline invitations politely then your probably just an arsehole.. the one thing I learned from Sarah Knight is I already know how to eliminate things from my life that I don't give a Fuck about and this book is one of them

A light-hearted and funny take on something that so many of us struggle with and yet find ourselves doing things or being with people we really don't care about!

I loved Sarah's witty writing style, it literally had me laughing out loud. But behind the humour there was a lot of wisdom that I think everyone could use.
