Excellent, accessible resource
‘Mental’ is a fantastic resource for both people personally experiencing mental illness, and for friends and family of those struggling with mental health issues. The Authors have achieved great balance between providing medical facts and information in a very no fuss and easy to understand way, and very human, personal stories, and non medical tips. I really liked that the Authors narrated the book themselves which added a lot of warmth and I found it really easy to listen to. Although I have long standing experience, as a family member of someone with a severe mental illness, I felt that I learned a lot from the book, in particular the sections about treatments and medications. I would recommend ‘Mental’ to people dealing with Mental illness for the first time but also to those who have a long history (themselves or family) of trying to find help for themselves or a loved one.
