Dont buy this book!

It's a good book, but its 97% the same as No-nonsense Buddhism (by the same author), which is a slightly better version. I'm very happy to have listened to it, just wish I had not paid twice for the same thing with a different title.

Great content, mediocre performance

Mr. Rasheta's writing was concise and very thoughtful, but the performance of the audiobook itself was lacking.

The delivery was very monotone, and each sentence seemed to run into the next, without any clear demarcation.

Overall, though - it was a good, quick audiobook for anyone interested in the secular flavor of Buddhism.

Highly recommended

Content was excellently put and seamless. The editing needs a little more sound spacing between sentences, subheadings, and chapters sometimes.

Great glimpse into secular buddhism

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about secular buddhism. The reading by the author was pleasant, as I always prefer to hear the author read their own words, but it wasn't the very best audio recording of a book I've ever heard. The timing could have been improved a bit. Overall: great book and would recommend it!

Valuable messages to live by

Although this is a short book, the author so eloquently and simply explains the valuable teachings of Buddhism as a way of living your life in a nut shell. He provides many relatable examples through his personal stories and parables as he touches on the most fundamental principles. If you put these teachings into practice and not just read this book as a voyeur, it will change your life. This book can be thought of as a small pocket manual to live life by as you learn let go of your preconceived notions of reality. What sets this book apart from all others is the continuous teachings that can be found through the author's podcast and website on Secular Buddhism.

Quick overview of Secular Buddhism

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick reminder (or introduction) of some of the key teachings of Buddhism from a secular lens.

I wish he would have gone deeper into certain topics, but I understand that wasn't the point of this book.

KEPT IT SECULAR!!!

I actually found this guy after hearing one of his podcasts. I’m not into theology at all but I still wanted to learn about the Buddhist Philosophy… Learn I did, peeps! He doesn’t tell you how to live your life or give you a playbook with step-by-step instructions for the mitigation of your stress. He teaches you to ask yourself the questions that will ultimately lead folks to peace.

Such a lovely book.

Purchased as an audio book, this was such a pleasure to listen to. For me personally, it's the most meaningful book on Buddhism I've come across. I would highly recommend it.

very interesting. worth another listen

a quick listen but some profound takeaways. some of it seemed a bit heady and might require another listen through to absorb more but a great introduction into the concepts of Buddhism from a secular standpoint - which as an atheist made it much more relatable.

Very easy introduction to buddism

Revommend as a quick and easy introduction to buddism. Book is not too long and very 'approachable'. Narration was good.

Simply Beautiful

A perfect explanation of Secular Buddhism. It's simple, easy to follow and, of course, practical.
I like Noah's no-nonsense reading through the book which made it easy to take notes while listening.
