Sex, Sin, and Scandal in a Small New England Town...
Interweaving the humor and mystery of Desperate Housewives with the drama and romance of Days of Our Lives throughout the novel, Matthew W. Grant breathes new life into the genre of small town potboilers.
From heiress Nancy Harrison fighting the manipulations and objections of her powerful family as she pursues a romance with mechanic Roy Trembley to Melinda Rollins, the minister's daughter who is cheating on her millionaire fiance...
From the crazy old lady harboring a deadly grudge, to the young girl who finds herself pregnant, single, and stuck with a playboy boyfriend afraid of commitment.
You're invited into the hearts, souls, and bedrooms of the residents of Slaters Falls where families of varying wealth and stature find their lives intertwined by sex, sin, scandal, and secrets.
Among the ensemble cast of spiteful busybodies, ambitious social climbers, sleazy hunks, conniving bitches, dirty cops, and scheming murderers, several achieve meaningful change. Secrets Of Slaters Falls is classic soap opera that tackles controversial topics such as abortion, racism, and drug abuse.

From Small Town Shenanigans to Deep, Dark Mystery
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
*When offered an opportunity to review this book in exchange for a review* I couldn't pass it up. It is billed as taking place in small town in New England – hello? That is my life. I'm always very skeptical about books that happened in, what I call, my backyard.
There was a lot more excitement and traumatic events, which made the book more interesting, then in my hometown. But Matt hit small-town New England at each opportunity, he nailed it!
Everything that happens is shared with everyone else. The gossip of the past is the only excitement-in my town. There were a few married people having affairs, the main street is almost exactly like the one that was 4 miles from my house as a child. The post office, grocery store, the hardware store, etc.
While this did not end on a cliffhanger, it does allow for the author to come back and set up a new set of circumstances and how they relate in a small town. I really hope he does.
The narrator was spot on. The range of characters from children to elderly, professionals and the "simpler" people (like myself) was completely believable. There were a lot of characters and stories to keep up with and I really applaud the narration.
Notes: A few mature situations, a couple of swear words & some violence (including a graphic description of an abortion)
Credit worthy/$: Yes to both. I am going to check to see if Matthew W. Grant has written anything else. If so, I will immediately add it to my Wish List.
Did you find my review helpful? If so, would you take a moment and select yes directly below this text. Thank you.

Intriguing and Awesome!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely yes, especially if you like mystery, love stories and a little (a lot) bit of soap opera's and sitcom's. A combination of Desperate Housewives, Hart of Dixie, a little Nashville and then some more!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't really have a favorite one, combined all together it was such an awesome mess that I really loved!
Which scene was your favorite?
The last one although it seemed as a potential bloodbath, eventually all went well (for now)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I couldn't so... it took a little longer than one sitting.
Any additional comments?
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own. I was under no obligation to post a review or give positive feedback.I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. Thank you very very much Matthew W. Grant and of course Andreas Lyon for this awesome book! Can't wait for the next one!

** I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review **
I really like this author, I have listened to 3 of his books so far and all of them were super great stories! Short chapters and really well developed individual characters! This is a super scandalous tale about a small town and what REALLY can go on...there is lies and betrayal...adultery...lust..new love...friendship...crimes of passion, evil people...good deeds..and bad ones! I loved how the ending hour of this book goes crazy with freak accidents and medical emergencies and you just don't know who is going to make it...and then all ends the way it should!! My fave couple Nancy and Roy.....Most evil Karen and Hattie...lol AWESOME LISTEN!!! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Reads like your favorite daytime drama ....
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the mix of characters. There were people from every walk of life and social status in this book. I liked the way that their stories were entwined with each other.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
At just over 10 hours it would be very hard to do this in one sitting. I will say tho that the story have me coming back for more. It would be great for a long weekend trip.
Any additional comments?
Like the best of daytime drama, Secrets of Slaters Falls keeps you coming back for more. I loved the characters that Mr. Grant has created. You have the heiress falling for the mechanic's son, the down and out waitress dating the town romeo and don't forget the old lady next door and her spinster daughter. There is a character in Slater Falls for everyone.
Mr. Lyon's did a good job with the narration. It was easy to follow along and know what characters where who. He gave each one their own voice that added to their personality. At times the recording sounded a little tinny but overall it wasn't a distraction.
I look forward to reading more of Mr. Grant's work. I hope there is another volume to this story. I want to know what happens to Donna and Jason!

Fun Book!
Any additional comments?
Fun Book!
This is the first book that I have listened/read by author Matthew Grant and narrated by Andreas Lyon. In this book we get to know some of the people living in Slaters Falls. There is a lot going on in the book, but it is easy to follow.
The narrator Andreas Lyon, did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. The narrator did a fantastic job with the different characters and it was easy to get lost in the story while listening. This is the first time I have listened to this narrator, and I am looking forward to listening to more books by him.
If you are looking for a great mystery with humor, then you need to get this book!

I Want More!!
Any additional comments?
I listened to this book in a single day and really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Peyton Place that I read about thirty years ago and still vividly remember. I really enjoyed the fact the plot centered around a whole town instead of one or two people. This could have made a difficult read trying to keep all the people straight but Andreas Lyon was able to acheive different voices for all the characters making the Secrets of Slaters Falls an easy listen. There are however a number of unanswered questions that I truely hope will be answered in a sequel. I would highly recommend this book. It is a very interesting glimpse into life in a small town.
I was given this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator in exhange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast. I would like to add that I have added books by this author and narrator to my wish list.

Has potential to be a good story but narrator ruin
Has potential to be a good story but narrator ruined it! The reading is very flat and the narrators mispronunciation of simple words like binoculars drove me NUTS!
