Audie Award Winner, Multi-Voiced Performance, 2014

World War Z: The Complete Edition (Movie Tie-in Edition): An Oral History of the Zombie War is a new version of Max Brooks' episodic zombie novel. The abridged versions of the original stories are now joined with new, unabridged recordings of the episodes that were not included in the original (abridged) version of the audiobook. These additional episodes feature a star-studded cast of narrators to coincide with the upcoming release of the film.

New narrators include Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese, Spiderman star Alfred Molina, The Walking Dead creator Frank Darabont, rapper Common, Firefly star Nathan Fillion, Shaun of the Dead's Simon Pegg, and members of the casts of Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes and more! Max Brooks will be reprising his role as The Interviewer.

The original abridged edition, released in 2006, won an Audie Award for Best Multi-Voiced Performance. Original cast members include Alan Alda, Mark Hamill, Carl & Rob Reiner, and John Turturro.

In this new classic of apocalyptic fiction that feels all too real, the Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. The documentary-style oral history records the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who came face-to-face with the living, or at least the undead, hell of that dreadful time.

Featuring five more hours of previously unrecorded content, this full-cast recording is read by F. Murray Abraham, Alan Alda, René Auberjonois, Becky Ann Baker, Dennis Boutsikaris, Bruce Boxleitner, Max Brooks, Nicki Clyne, Common, Denise Crosby, Frank Darabont, Dean Edwards, Mark Hamill, Nathan Fillion, Maz Jobrani, Frank Kamai, Michelle Kholos, John McElroy, Ade M’Cormack, Alfred Molina, Parminder Nagra, Ajay Naidu, Masi Oka, Steve Park, Kal Penn, Simon Pegg, Jürgen Prochnow, Carl Reiner, Rob Reiner, Henry Rollins, Jeri Ryan, Jay O. Sanders, Martin Scorsese, Paul Sorvino, David Ogden Stiers, Brian Tee, John Turturro, Eamonn Walker, Ric Young, and Waleed Zuaiter.

This is what audiobooks aspire to be.

I wasn’t a fan of the movie and had never read the book, but this is now my favorite audiobook, possibly of all time.

Good story, excellent narrators/readers

Good post-apocalyptic story. Seemed very real/realistic.

Excellent narration/voice acting. I would definitely enjoy audio books much more if they all had this level of quality.

Love the cast

The stat cast and the storys really took this from a book and transformed it into something I felt like I might hear on the radio or even see on TV it is great.

Amazing voice work for an incredible story!

In my opinion this audio book is as monumental as the original work itself. The performances create a perfect audio environment for this story. Encapsulating, aw inspiring and all around wonderful!

History of the World meets ZOMBIE WAR!

An amazing history of a pseudo zombie uprising in the midst of our beautiful world today. How did we cope? Did we cope? What did we lose aside from lives?

I love history especially our international wars and how our countries come together to make changes for the planet's ultimate survival.

This story is told be world famous actors that bring the book to life. Dramatic stpry telling not reached in normal auditory books.

This audible book takes you on a journey of unfoling events throughout the world, engulfed with appropriate accents from each of the actors.

Truly an delite to the ears aa you weave your way through this Zombie War! FYI: It is NOTHING like the movie and 2000% better!

Superbly performed

I love this book. It is so much more than a a simple reading, it is truly an in-depth performance. After seeing the movie I see how much deeper the story actually runs.

The acting is so believable and it kept me wanting more. I especially enjoyed listening to this book over a week or so during my lunch hour and after school.

I chose a five star rating because it is well deserved. I hope I have many more audiobook listening experiences such as this one. A great read!

Thrilling and satisfying

While some of the voice actors sounded a bit too much like they where reading instead of talking, many of them did a fine job. Story and overall narrative was well executed.

A complete immersion in a fictional future history

If you could sum up World War Z: The Complete Edition (Movie Tie-in Edition) in three words, what would they be?

Documentary style, Zombies and more Zombies

Any additional comments?

At certain points in this story it feels almost like this is a true account of a horrible history.
