Publisher's summary

Delia never thought her love of adventure and artifact hunting would lead her to discover such oddities as man-slaying monsters, magical swords, and elves on motorcycles. Oh, and there's also the ancient Spartan warrior who's been stranded in the present - he's offering to work as her bodyguard in exchange for English lessons.

She's barely wrapped her mind around these strange new developments when another monster arrives, this time in Sedona, Arizona. The tourist town is known for its majestic rock formations, "healing vortexes," and ruins left by the Sinagua, a native people who mysteriously disappeared hundreds of years ago. Monsters are a more recent development. This one is leaving death and destruction in its wake, and Delia and her friends are the only ones who know what's going on. They're also the only ones with a weapon that can harm the creature - if they can find it.

To add to their problems, a centuries-old evil has been reawakened, one that threatens to deliver the people of Sedona to the same fate as the Sinagua. And Delia and her friends along with them.

Great story

There were times of being on the edge of one’s seat. Wish there were more books.

Where is the 3rd book

This was a fun story and I didn't want it to end. I usually don't bother with books where the story doesn't wrap up as in a trilogy or are old, so the books are already written. This is from 2014 and I am guessing that it will never have another book in this series. It would be nice if the author could at least produce a third and final book for this 2.5 book series.

Love ❤️

Loved this series so much! I'm sad there's no continuation. I would still listen to both of these books again, even without having it be a completed series.
Lindsay Buroker is one of my favorite authors, and I highly recommend her Death before Dragons series and the continued series called Legacy of Magic.
As for the narrator, Nola Zandry AKA Vivienne Leheny, she's amazing! I love her work she truly brings any story to life.

Yes, I loved this book as much as the first two.

These books are great fun. I love the detail slipped into the character's thoughts and conversations. For example, the details about the thread poison being an organophosphate similar to real chemical pesticides and war gases. I have never heard a chemist pronounce the word the way this narrator did. I have worked with at least one Greek chemist. We did work with organophosphates some and I do not remember ever hearing her say chemical names like that. But it wasn't hard to imagine that it was an odd southwest dessert accent or something. At least the author used true sounding chemical and biological theories in the characters musings about the problems they encountered.
I hope the author finds the motivation to write another few books in this series.

Pure Entertainment.

Packed with adventure, interesting characters, lots of action, and well painted pictures of Arizona locales. The performance by Nola Zandry is first rate, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend Thorn Fall by Lindsay Buroker.

Awesome Addition to the Rust & Relics Series

If your considering purchasing this book, do! I am a new fan of Ms. Buroker’s writing and I have already down loaded some of her other series based on how much I liked the 3 books in the Rust & Relics series. The combination of a well-written book that encompasses adventure, humor, and alternate universes - along with. A great nRrator - is a great find to listen to. Take a chance you won’t be sorry.

Lindsay please say book 3 will be out soon?????

Where's the rest?

I really enjoyed these 3 stories and was anticipating the next, but there isn't one. There are far too many loose ends dangling to stop the adventure here. PLEASE do at least 1 more to wrap everything up.

Unfinished

It had been a little while ago that I had read this series and had forgotten that it was incomplete. It’s like watching a TV series that is suddenly canceled. However, like most of Ms. Buroker stories it’s very good and I can recommend it. I just have to be willing to imagine how it ends.
