A Fun Sports Story for Sci-Fi Fans
The GFL (Galactic Football League) books are a lot of fun. The Rookie is your standard football drama but set in a world that makes it accessible to people without a lot of football knowledge. Sigler does a great job narrating the book himself. The only issue with the audiobook is a few missteps with production.

This is the first book of a series and it’s great.
This is the first book of the Galactic Football League which set 700 years in the future.
There are various alien specie playing the positions on each team.
The main character is from a backwater planet and doesn’t like the other races. He has to learn to interact with each specie on their terms not his.

Nothing deep but well crafted and great fun!
Terrific fun! listened to it in just two sittings. If you love fantasy SciFi and still loved sports you will like this. It's a fun serial story that follow a character through growth, adventure and Struggle. Not sure about it bring for ten year olds but surely middle school to adult. Great coexistence , team, competition and cooperation themes for younger readers and not in any boring saccharine way. Just a good reality break for adults.

Hooked after a few chapters
This was my introduction to Scott Sigler years ago and I have not stopped devouring his content since. I was reluctant to get into this universe, but Scott’s writing and performance draws you in and keeps you wanting more. His characters are so well developed that you will want them to be a part of your life forever.
