Story
Tennis means life and death for the residents of the magical kingdom of Nova, and for 12-year-old Legacy, it’s the only thing getting her through the long days taking care of the other kids at the orphanage. That’s all about to change when she hears about Silla’s tournament. Silla, the ruler of Nova, hosts an annual tournament for the less fortunate of her citizens to prove themselves and win entrance to the Academy, where they can train to compete at nationals. The prize is Silla’s favor and enough cash to keep open the orphanage, and Legacy has her heart set on both.

Seventeen-time all-star; scorer of 81 points in a game; MVP; and a shooting guard second only to Jordan in league history: Kobe Bryant is one of basketball's absolute greatest players, a fascinating and complicated character who knew when he was a mere boy that he would be better than Jordan on the court. The debate about whether he achieved that is a furious one - but Kobe has surpassed Jordan on the all-time scoring list and has only one less championship than Jordan (five to Jordan's six).

In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

Story
The definition of greatness cannot be confined to an explanation found in Webster's Dictionary; the epitome of greatness is unique to the individual seeking it. For some, greatness is achieved through fame; for some, it is found in fortune. But for all, greatness is achieved from a long life of hard work and nothing epitomizes this more than the life and work ethic of Kobe Bryant. For Kobe Bryant, the NBA became a part of his life much earlier than other NBA stars. Son of NBA star Joe Bryant, Kobe found his niche in basketball and pursued it from an early age.

When most people think of Michael Jordan, they think of the beautiful shots, his body totally in sync with the ball, hitting nothing but net. He is responsible for incredible moments so ingrained in basketball history that they have their own names: The Shrug, The Shot, The Flu Game. But for all his greatness, there's also a dark side to Jordan: A ruthless competitor, a gambler. There's never been a biography that balanced these personas-until now.

Publisher's Summary
From the mind of basketball legend and Academy Award-winning storyteller Kobe Bryant comes this radically original portrait of five young basketball players, one enlightening coach, and the awesome transformative power of the game. Filled with insights about the mental stamina and emotional clarity that peak performance requires, this is an indispensable story for young athletes, coaches, educators, and anyone interested in the astonishing potential of team sports to unlock individual growth.
The game will never be the same
Magic doesn’t seem possible for the West Bottom Badgers. They’re the lowest-ranked basketball team in their league, and they live in the poorest neighborhood in Dren. Nobody expects them to succeed at anything. Plus, every kid on the team has secret struggles of his own.
When a new coach named Professor Wizenard arrives on the first day of training camp, the Badgers can’t explain the magical-seeming things they see and hear. Every player experiences unique and strange visions - visions that challenge everything they thought they knew about basketball, and about their lives and their secrets off the court. To survive the increasingly intense ordeals of training, the Badgers will need to take unimaginable risks, learn to trust their teammates, and confront the darkness within themselves.

The Wizenard Series
I was intrigued by this series, based on who created it and the reason why, so I decided to check it out. I enjoyed book 1 thoroughly. Phylicia Rashad, Who is one of my favorites, was AMAZING!! Her reading gave the book life. I felt like I was right there with the characters going through the day to day. The way the story was written was a little confusing to me at first. Since this is audio, I thought I had hit rewind and was re-listening to a certain part at first. Then I realized that they were covering each character’s point of view. It sometimes got a little repetitive but all in all it was fun. I love the character development and the attention given to each character in the story. Even though it came off like one character was intended to be the lead, my thoughts quickly changed as I realized an equal amount of time was given to everyone, which was really great! I definitely recommend the book and look forward to the next one. Also the way this book was written, it’s clearly primed for it to be a movie series.

This really blew me away with each player getting there own book. Seeing all their struggles. It reminded me when I was coached by my dad in NJB. I think Kobe Bryant really did a great job with this series if your looking to have your kids see a different perspective this book delivers.
