Deep in the forested hills of Hudson's Bay lays the quaint country farm town known as Sleepy Hollow. The area is also well known for being haunted. Schoolmaster Ichabod Crane has moved into the town and set up class for the children of the surrounding countryside. Soon he meets and falls utterly in love with the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, daughter of the wealthiest man in the area. Competition for his beloved's heart is pretty stiff. It also has big fists and goes by the name of Brom Bones. As the struggle for Katrina's heart is kindled, Ichabod must also come to terms with the most famous of ghosts in Sleepy Hollow, the Headless Horseman.
This story is an adaptation of the 1820 original by Washington Irving. While trying to remain true to the style and flow of the original, the text has been edited and rewritten for the 21st-century listener by award-winning author Basil Sands, who also performed the narration.

Sleepy Hollow is one of those rare classic's to be read over and over. I have read this tale many times over the years and never tire of it. I found this version as good. Basil Sands did a great job at reading it, and keeping my interest. Another awesome addition to my collection.
I enjoyed Basil Sands new take on Sleepy Hollow.I have listened to many versions of this story. It is one of my favorites.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”
The book started out slow, but ended up really good. This retelling of a classic was ok. The words were more easily understood then the original,. But the story started out slow but picked up in the last ten minutes. The narrator did a good job in changing voices and trying to make the book interesting.
