Story
Paksenarrion was the finest paladin her world would ever see. But Paksenarrion could never have become a fighter at all had it not been for he who had come before: Gird, the liberator, who taught his people that they could fight - and win - against their Mage-born rulers. And after Gird came one more: Luap, Gird's sworn follower and the king's half-breed bastard. Riven by internal conflict, Luap dare not lie and cannot tell the truth, nor face the future.

Story
Kylara Vatta is the only daughter in a family full of sons, and her father's only child to buck tradition by choosing a military career instead of joining the family business. For Ky, it's no contest: Even running the prestigious Vatta Transport Ltd. shipping concern can't hold a candle to shipping out as an officer aboard an interstellar cruiser. It's adventure, not commerce, that stirs her soul. And despite her family's misgivings, there can be no doubt that a Vatta in the service will prove a valuable asset. But with a single error in judgment, it all comes crumbling down.

Story
Sassinak was 12 when the raiders came. That made her just the right age: old enough to be used, young enough to be broken. Or so the slavers thought. But Sassy turned out to be a little different from your typical slave girl. Maybe it was her unusual physical strength. Maybe it was her friendship with the captured Fleet crewman. Maybe it was her spirit. Whatever it was, it wouldn’t let her resign herself to the life of a slave. She bided her time, watched for her moment. Finally it came, and she escaped. But that was only the beginning for Sassinak.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

There he was in his sailboat in the middle of the Atlantic, all alone and loving it. Well, there was a US Navy carrier group on his southern horizon, but he was a Navy guy himself, so he didn't mind. Then came the UFOs, hurtling in from the Outer Black to overfly the carriers at Mach 17. Their impossible aerobatics were bad enough—but then they started shooting at each other, and at the Navy, with nukes. Little ones at first, but winding up with a 500 megatonner at 90 miles that fried every piece of electronics within line-of-sight.

In the tradition of heroes
Add Paksenarrion (an elfin name) to the pantheon of my heroes. In my review of Sheep Farmer's Daughter, Book 1 of The trilogy Deed Of Paksenarrion, I marveled at Moon's treatment of military issues and her integration of men and women in positions of leadership and of lesser rank. As I read the trilogy, Paks grew on me. I still feel that more character development a la George R. R. Martin and Terry Goodkind, would have fmade the trilogy a richer experience. This said, the trilogy is all about Paks, a remarkably human hero. I was in continual suspense about her fate until near the very end. But Moon does not kill off characters as Martin does. Instead, Moon wraps a gripping and at times spell binding tale around the development of her lead character, Paksenarrion Dorfan's Daughter. A well done first trilogy, in my opinion I am richer for having read it.

Strong female heroine
This is my favorite book. I am so glad it is on Audible. Fell in love with it as a pre-teen. A must read for young women. The narrator does an excellent job with the different characters and accents. This is the 3rd book in The Deed of Paksenarrion trilogy by Elizabeth Moon. :)

Good, but a much different flavor
it was good and well written, but far far more politics as a posed to action are involved and was a struggle foe me to see it through. worth the read to finish of the series and resolve pakses story.

I almost like this more than Harry Potter
I have been a hardcore Harry Potter fan since third grade. I'm 32 years old, and this book Trilogy is fantastically written beautifully performed Jennifer Van Dyke is amazing. I love listening to this book, I listen to it all the time I think I've listened to it eight times and I've read it on the Kindle and in person. I just have to say it's a beautiful book well done
