Publisher's Summary

The world had become used to the metahumans - people sometimes perfectly ordinary, but sometimes quite extraordinary in appearance - who mostly worked with their governments as high-powered peace officers, fighting crime, and sometimes fighting rogue metahumans who had become super-criminals. Then that comfortable world ended in just one terrifying day.

Suddenly, all world governments were simultaneously attacked by soldiers in giant mecha robotic suits with the swastika symbol of the Third Reich on their metal arms. If these were Nazis, where had they been hiding since the end of World War II? And where had they gotten armor and weapons far in advance of anything on the planet? Weapons against which even the metahuman heroes seemed to be helpless…

This Book was great even the second time around

Would you consider the audio edition of Invasion to be better than the print version?

No I think the audio version bring the characters to life more then a printed version could.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Invasion?

Te Red Squared Battle where the people help the metas with the battle even if they new they were out match.

Which scene was your favorite?

To many to count, The scenes I like the most is where the characters start to change there life and where they start to trust other as a team instead of being a loners.

Any additional comments?

I first listen to this series on podiobook and thought I would try it here. I am glad I did.I hope they continue to write together.

Pointless

What would have made Invasion better?

This book is a disjointed mess. <br/><br/>The book hints that the characters all have troubled pasts, but none are explained. <br/><br/>There is action, but it never feels exciting. The story never seems to go anywhere.

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

No.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None that I can think of.

Disappointed

I am a huge Mercedes Lackey fan and pretty much but everything she writes.

This will be the exception. I found I hated this book and won't be finishing it.

I cannot help but wonder exactly how much she wrote, not much I am guessing. The writing doesn't feel like her, lacking the level of character development I have grown to live in her books.

Go listen to the podcast..

Any additional comments?

I picked up this book after listening to the podcast because I want to support the authors and overall the story is great. The voice talent just doesn't fit the story. I am sure Nick Sullivan is a nice person, but this story should have a female reader. Most of the protagonists are female. He really lacks the ability to give each character a personal voice. It really took something away from the story. <br/><br/>Go listen to Veronica Giguere here http://secretworldchronicle.com/

Good fun

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend his audiobook. It is a nice story to feed your brain a little scifi superhero story.

What did you like best about this story?

The characterization were very good.

Which scene was your favorite?

Hard to choose.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but it oak several.

The incredibles.

If you could sum up Invasion in three words, what would they be?

fun stereotype fight

What was one of the most memorable moments of Invasion?

Red Saviour and her 'citizen arrest'.

What about Nick Sullivan’s performance did you like?

The vocal performances were all great. A great variable tone in the voices to keep you wanting to listen longer and longer.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

INVASION<br/>Who is gonna protect you!

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed the story. The end clearly wants another book to be written. Without a follow up book, the end was wrapped up very quickly and left me unsatisfied. However, that feeling was not long lasting as I recalled the full story and my favourite character Red Saviour. She was just awesome.

Ok, if you can over-look the clichéd sterotypes

Any additional comments?

If your a vet, educated, hard working, a long term retirement planner, libertarian or conservative the insults came about 2 per chapter. If you can get by the tripe the story is pretty good and the performance is great!

i made a choice. Really boring.

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Nick Sullivan?

I know and own may of Mercedes Lackey's books in series. The other others are new to me. Nick Sullivan was not very impressive but the book was so boring I feel I didnt have a chance to evaluate Nick Sullivan.

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Detailed insufficient in some areas, not enough history for other parts and that is the first hour. This is not my type of sifi. So I barely made the first hour.

What three words best describe Nick Sullivan’s voice?

Distinctive, multiple character typed voices or emotions down pat.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Invasion?

No one would let me edit this book. It would be unfair. Not my style.

Any additional comments?

Read the description of the book, listen to the sample and if they dont grab your heart, mind or are easily forgotten wo wanting to know more? Dont buy it. Trying a new type or style is good growth but if you cant remember what the first 20 min was about and you are only 1 hour into the book......let it go. This is suppose to be entertaining not a test in tolerance.
