In the third installment of the Bubba in Fairyland saga, Bubba and his band of merry men and women are still on the hunt for his missing sister. Their journey this time brings them to the Summer Court, home of Titania and Oberon, neither of whom are fans of giant rednecks with giant guns.

Dungeons, Dragons, and Bertha!

I'm seriously beginning to think that Bubba's butt is a magnet for fairy dungeons. It seems like the first thing that he does when he goes somewhere new in Fairy is get his butt tossed into the brig. Naturally, he takes the whole team with him, so that they won't miss him while he's incarcerated. The team consisting of Bubba's Momma, the super hot Demon agent, Amy, Skeeter, and Father Joe. They are still seeking Bubba's missing sister, and in order to get out of jail and continue their search Oberon has assigned Bubba and the Beerbusters (that's what I'm calling his team) have to slay one of the toughest, meanest, well-mannered dragons in the whole realm. Zitherax, (sorry if it's misspelled, but Audible . . ) knows how to treat his guests and in my opinion he gets a raw deal. He didn't start acting up until others forced his hand. And as for his bloody rampage. . . he is a freaking dragon after all.

Now, the one thing I am going to say BOO about is the cover of this book. I literally just got done praising how beautiful the last two covers in this series were, and then we get what looks like some twenty year old's selfie that had been run through a Snapchat pretty filter. It really looks weak, and does not fit the rest of the books. I am the first person to say that a cover is what sells a book, good or bad that is the fact of it, and this looks cheap, cheesy, and rushed to be frank. I am not a fan. Not in the slightest.

Now for the good stuff. If you like Bubba, and I am sure that you do since this is his latest book, then you know what you are in for; a lot of snide comments, fart jokes, a lot of punching, kicking, biting, stabbing, and shooting. Pretty much anything that is uncouth and utterly redneck will be here. The jokes are funny and the fights are practically cinematic. The running gags sprint, and the one offs fly like shell casings at a rifle range. We do get to finally see some closure between Bubba and his momma, and some sparks fly (literally and figuratively) between Bubba and Amy. Now, I am not complaining, but I do want to say that I hope the next novella does not start with Bubba and the Beerbusters in yet another dungeon. That trope has been utilized to its fullest laugh potential! I am very glad that Hartness keeps advancing his characters, and they continue to grow and experience real relationship issues from when Skeeter got miffed at Bubba, and what goes on between the Big Guy and Amy. A lot happens here, nd you don't want to miss out.

Do I have to talk about Master Solo, and his beerlicious narratin' skills? Sure I do, that man deserves an Emmy or a Grammy or something, because he manages to play the most ridiculous situations as straight as possible, but with a sparkle in his eye. He is also amazing, because not only can he pull off Bubba and Amy's voice, but he can replicate a believable voice for a black gay man that isn't insulting. I give full props, and will always say that he has Bubba's voice down to a science, and portrays it in the sam way that I heard it in my head. Rock on, Mr. Solo. Rock on!

So, aside from a crappy (sorry, but it is) snapchat pic that was used for a cover the rest of the book is like a plate of roast cat and string beans, not what you were expecting, a little weird, but enough to make you hope that someone has just dressed up a plateful of chicken. Huh? I mean it is all the weird silly stuff that you know and love plus Bertha to keep you intersted.

Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

An Awesome Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher and found it very entertaining. My favourite Monster Hunter and his friends are tricked into hunting and killing a dragon. Bubba and the gang are travelling in the summer court looking for Bubba's half sister, when Gramps offers him a deal he can't refuse. Bubba tales are fun with unique characters and a fast paced plot, you'll just keep listening. John G. Hartness is one of my new favourite authors.

Fantastic Bubba book! Need to come out faster!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was another great addition to the Bubba series. I REALLY wish they were longer, though! Or at least come out faster so we can find out what happens next. The narration was fantastic, as usual by John Solo. Not that I had any doubts, mind you. Keep these coming Mr. Hartness!!!!

Fun Listen

Bubba's journey is definitely worth following. You can't help falling in love with this red neck and his friends. I literally LOL at points in the story. The narration is great bringing the story to life. I was captivated from start to finish and did not want to stop listening.

Back in Fairyland

You got to love Bubba; he’s back in fairyland searching for his ½ sister whom he has yet met. He meets his grandfather for the first time and has to destroy this evil dragon. You have to laugh at some his shenanigans and friends, I really like Skeeter. I cannot wait for next book with the same narrator who is great as Bubba. Recommend to anyone who enjoys humorous fantasy. I was gifted this audiobook and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

A Hartness Hit

Bubba and his crew are a riot. I believe I have every audio Mr. Hartness has released. All of his books are well worth the time. I do wish the releases were quicker, or longer. Mr. Solo has made the Bubba series come to life. Can't wait for next release.

Bubba + Fairies - Nope, not Skeeter this time! ;)

As always John has presented us with a fantastic collection of raucous and fun stories. It's just my opinion, but I'd LOVE to see John and Larry Correia do a Bubba / Monster Hunter International crossover. They exist in VERY similar realities. Who wouldn't love to read a scene with Bubba & Owen or Skeeter & Earl?! Yeah, I'd pay real money for that audiobook!

OMG!

I laughed and laughed through this entire book. VERY entertaining story and the audiobook made it even better with the redneck voice John Solo. Only problem I had with this is that it just wasn't long enough. I wanted more! That being said, the story was well written and well voiced!

Hot Blooded

The author has a wonderful sense of humor which carries through all of the books in this series. John Solo is extremely talented at bringing all of the characters to life with unique voices and personalities. The characters and voices are consistent throughout all of the books which makes the books more believable and enjoyable. Great job!
