After a horrific vision, the King's seer forces Katya and Sheve apart...all in the name of their future happiness. For in their happiness lies the future of the Aonise species....
After the explosion at the hospital, young and vibrant Katya has one thing on her mind: to carry on her late parents' work helping sick children.
Sheve, a dedicated and relentless soldier, concentrates on his own mission to seek out a special crystal, the only thing they believe can help them defeat their mortal enemy, the Zefron. Yet, when the Zefron attack and destroy Sheve's base in their quest for annihilation, and Sheve's missing, feared dead, it is Katya who never gives up in her search for the one man she truly loves.
I'm a huge fan of THE SECRET KING: LETHAO and think if you have picked up that novel then this is a great work to read in addition to it. This stars one of the supporting characters of that book and she is a kind, compassionate, and yet spirited heroine. Which is good for a protagonist who is a doctor in SPACCCCCCEE. This is probably not going to make much sense if you haven't read the Secret King but I think that's a worthwhile book in its own right.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was yet another great side story from the Secret King: Lethao story line. This time, though, we are continuing with the Katya story. It's narrated by Holly Adams, who continues to do a great job, but also has some of Greg Tremblay, too, which is great. I would recommend listening/reading Brie's Results and The Secret King: Lethao first, so you understand the references and overall world better, but you could get away with just listening to Brie's Results if you wanted to.
