Publisher's Summary

This is not your average EMP story. Enemies of America use unique weapons that destroyed one-third of the US population in just a few short hours. Journey with Sandi, an average conservative mom, who clings to God and her guns to protect all those she loves. With little time to prepare, most families have only a week's supply of food. Preppers have a bunker. Sandi doesn't have a bunker. Adventure with this housewife as she struggles against danger, adversity, and lawlessness - to survive a new normal. The question that keeps her up at night?

Will America return to its foundations or become a by-word among nations?

Great book but two minor editorial mistakes

Akiane, the artist referenced in the story, is Lithuanian, not Ukrainian. Also Catholics are Christians, they are not an offshoot of Christianity. Aside from these two editorial mistakes the book is fantastic because the characters are so real. They remind me of many people I've known.

Not Your Typical Apocalypse

This story grabs your attention right away. The characters are interesting and well defined. I liked that fact that the main character is a forty-something woman who believes in herself and her family, yet is humble enough to ask her creator for help and wisdom. Hope the next book comes out on Audible soon.

Really exciting, couldn't put it down. Can't wait

This was a very realistic portrayal of how people in a small town might really react when doomsday comes. It's not just a guy with a gun and a dog, but from a housewife's perspective. Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy. I am bored easily, but the first chapter had me hooked.

You might like it

I want to start by saying this narrator is good. I could listen to her reading any book, just not this one.

This book was a bit hard to get through. The protagonist is a right wing, hard core, Christian woman who tells the reader she isn't into equal rights. I really wanted to like her and almost managed to do so.

I only recommend this book if you too are a right wing, hardcore Christian. You may enjoy the fantasy.

Post Apocalypse from the Right

While the storyline holds a lot of promise, the severe conservative right slant will limit the appeal of this book and series. Weaving in current or very recent events from the American experience is a great way to make this story topical but lauding praise on the current POTUS, even to suggest he wouldn’t even sleep while responding to a crisis is laughable given his campaign promises of not having time to golf yet already golfing more in his first year than his predecessor did in 8 years.

The verbal performance seemed rather stiff at times, but decent.

My review

What would you do if it was the end of the technological era? What would you do to survive and protect the ones you love??
That's what most of America has to decide when any enemy attack wipes out most of the electricity in America.

One street binds together in hope of survival, but how long can they really last? 3 months? 18 months?

With so many bad things happening around them this street becomes a quick family and does whatever they can to survive in a town torn apart by crimes and lawlessness.

But the real question is... who can they trust??

Excellent Book

Great book and great addition to your library. I love that the main character is a woman! She is a wife, mother, prepper, home schooler and an all around badass woman! She is smart, crafty and resourceful. The narrator brought the characters to life and I quickly became engrossed with them and their lives. I listened to most of this book in 1 setting . The author did a great job creating tge characters and the plot. I also love that tge author ends the world in a totally new way! No EMP's for this author which made the book all the more interesting. Can't wait to start the second book!
