Publisher's summary

The hit FireNine series from New York Times best-selling author Shanora Williams continues...

Montana Delray is the most laid back of the popular rock band, FireNine. He's goofy, charming, blatantly honest, talented, a massive flirt, and extremely handsome. The girls literally throw themselves at him, and he accepts it. He loves the attention. The fame. The parties. His single life. With so many women to choose from, it's not in his nature to chase after just one, but when Lauren Harkin enters his life, that all changes.

Lauren is smart, sexy, confident, and knows exactly how to get under his skin... and although he hates to admit it, he loves it. He wants her in every way possible, but she doesn't want anything to do with him. Famous FireNine rocker, Delray isn't the kind of guy Lauren needs to bring into her life. After having her emotions tampered with repeatedly, she refuses to give into someone who will most likely take her for granted and make things worse. But with much effort and some sexual manipulation, Montana and Lauren come to an agreement neither of them can resist.

As their fling carries on, though, everything intensifies, and once they realize it true fear sets in. Soon they come to the realization that they care for one another more than intended, and they both know caring for someone other than themselves means opening their hearts. The reality they face with each other is totally unexpected and becomes their biggest fear... and neither of them is ready for it.

Ok, but nothing special

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book, however the rest of the series was awesome.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Sadly there was not any part of the story that stood out.... good or bad.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performances were very good. I did like the dual narration although I do not care for Christian Fox's "female" voice.

Did Who I'm Becoming inspire you to do anything?

No.

Any additional comments?

If this book goes on sale, maybe its worth a listen. I would not use a credit, although I am not asking for mine back.

SADLY, I LOST CONNECTION WITH THIS LISTEN

It's so sad, when you've been following a fantastic series and have been giving it 5 star glowing reviews and you're excited to then get the next book in the series and slowly you think "what happened?" Because you just don't connect with either the H/H or the plot. The Summary sounded good, it should have been good but I hate to say it but, for me, it was missing depth, chemistry and excitement. Was this one rushed? because it's the shortest book so far.

Montana and Lauren's relationship started off very casual.... no strings sex and it slowly developed into them both wanting much more but just as things settled down for them there was a secret that Lauren was keeping which, IMHO, wasn't shocking and Montana totally overreacted about. She left it too late to spill and the consequences weren't pretty.

Told from both POV's but sadly even the good narration couldn't stir up much interest for me.

Worth a credit? If you're a fan of the series and have been following the rest of the band's stories (as I have) then of course it's a must have listen and yes creditworthy. But if not, it was just a little bit blah for me.

Not as good as previous book

I like gage and roy's story better. Montana's story was kinda boring to me. its kinda sad since montana was supposed to be the funny one. Lots of sex scene but not enough twist or storyline.
