Publisher's Summary

The last thing any man wants to see is the woman of his dreams getting engaged to his brother....

I thought I still had time to win Marlena back, but seeing the brother I despise lock his arm around her waist at his engagement party catches me completely off guard.

I can’t really blame her. She didn’t know he was my brother and I’m sure he never talks about me, but now that she knows, she’s begging me to forget about our past. Well, she’s out of her mind if she thinks I’m going to let her get away from me that easily.

Most men are willing to sacrifice a greater love for the sake of another’s happiness, but the thing is, I’m not like most men. And that fiance of his? She knows me better than anyone else, which means she also knows I’m not letting her go without a fight.

Fantastic listen!

This is my first book by Shanora Williams, and she now has a new fan! What a beautiful story! When I read the title, I figured this was going to be a naughty, the heroine is attracted to her future brother-in-law type of naughty, but to my surprise, it is a heart wrenching story of longing, loving and redemption. Marley and Vin dated for 3 years. When it was evident Vin's addictions would rule his life, Marley left him and set out to move on with her life. But can that ever really happen? These two soulmates meet again and in the worst of circumstances. I loved Vin! His brokenness made so endearing, and his perseverance was unwavering. Marley is strong and wants to do what is best for her family. I have to say, there were times I wanted to smack her silly and tell her what to do, but I do love the way things shift and move in the story. It makes for an angsty, highly emotional book, making my heart ache and fill with love. Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas give an amazing performance. Marley is full of emotion and the push/pull feelings are felt straight through with Laurel's performance. You can just feel her passion towards Vin while being pulled to keep her commitment. Salinas has a smooth voice and I loved his portrayal of Vin. Vin is full of passion and perseverance, felt with his inflections. Together, they gave us a story of love not to be missed.

second chance romance

so much drama in this one. All the characters in here are a hot mess and hot mess characters sometimes make for a good story. I was pretty much engaged the whole time. I didnt feel much of a connection with any of the characters though because they were a bit all of the place. I'm just not a huge fan of cheating even when characters feel like its justified. If you want to be with someone else, then just be with someone else.I also get annoyed when characters continue to make the same bad decisions and choose a path they no longer have to choose. The story was good and engaging and well written and told, it just wasn't my typed of story. Marlena is marrying lloyd and right before the wedding finds out lloyd is the brother of the first and only man she ever really loved and once reunited, they have a hard time staying away from eachother. Ven wants marlena back and always has even before knowing she was engaged to his brother but marlena keeps choosing to go back to lloyd because she feels she has no other choice and must stick with the original plans to make sure her mom keeps getting the care she needs. Can ven convince marlena to finally leaves his jerk brother and be with him again? I guess you'll just have to read and find out. If you don't like stories involving cheating than this isn't the book for you. I feel like I would have liked it better if there wasn't so much cheating happening.I mean that's your brother man, even if he is a jerk and you feel like the girl was yours first. I really was enjoying it until that started happening. I mean hey some people dont mind it. It is fiction but still makes me cringe lol. Also I felt bad for ven because he loved her so much and she couldn't make up her mind what she wanted.

Forbidden second chance hotness

Shanora Williams just gets that forbidden sexual tension right. It’s so palpable it’s comes right through the speaker. There are some darker aspects to MarLena and Vinny’s relationship. It’s an emotional story but they both came out stronger on the other side. This is one satisfying listen, Lacy and Gregory are fire. 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

Steamy read.

I received this audiobook from @AudiobookObsession for an honest review. I can honestly say from the title I thought this was going to be a typical triangle love situation. It turned out to be so much more! It is about love, addiction, continued addiction and agreements. Holy Moly! I applaud the author for focusing on drug and alcohol addiction and showing how relationships can be tarnished by addiction. I also liked full circle on how all the characters weaved together and they each have their own story. This book could be set up as a series for each character. The author allows you to fall in love with the main characters. The narration was a perfect match and I can still hear their voices as the story unfolds. #dowtimereading

5 massive stars

Wow I absolutely LOVED this book so much! Shanora Williams is an amazing author. I could not stop listening ALL day. I have a major crush on Vinny. I think my husband should be worried. He was mouthwatering. And dont get me started on Marley. She was perfection. Normally when I read romance books its hard to remember the female names afterwards. I guess because the men are just so much more memorable but Marley will stick with me. OHHH and the hatred I feel for Lloyd and Will is INTENSE. SUPER HUGE 5 STARS. * I am A proud member of the Audiobook Obsession Review Group*

please take the mic from Lacy Laurel!

I'm astounded that Lacy Laurel is an actual narrator. Her narrations ruin every book I've bought that she worked on. The only great thing about this one is that it was dual and I at least didn't have to listen to her throughout 100% of this book. Her male voices are laughable. It sounds like the exaggerated voice you make when you're trying to be intentionally facetious and mean. Bad narration ruined this book, which to be honest, wasn't that great even without narration.

Chasing happiness

The story begins with Marlena leaving her addict boyfriend Vinnie. She’s realized that he’s never going to get the help he needs so she’s accepted a job as a flight attendant. Fast forward two years, Vinnie is now clean and opening a club with one of his friends. He receives a call from his younger brother Lloyd asking him to be the best man at his wedding which Vinnie finds hilarious because they aren’t close, in fact they can’t stand each other. Lloyd even offers to pay Vinnie $20,000 to attend and he says he is doing this to make their mom happy. Vinnie agreed because $20,000 is, well, $20,000. Vinnie goes to the dinner to meet Lloyd’s fiancée and he’s shocked to see that it is none other than Marlena, the only woman he’s ever loved. Marlena is just as shocked to see Vinnie but neither mention knowing the other. This revelation makes a tense situation even more tense. In the months following the dinner, Marlena starts to see a side of Lloyd that she’s never seen before and seeing Vinnie makes her have doubts about her future. Does she do what’s right or does she choose her happiness? I enjoyed this book. It was well written but I gave it 3 stars because the story started slowly but it did build along the way. But overall a good story. Good narration from both narrators.

Not what I expected from the title, Way better!

They say soulmates meet over and over again, until they get it right. Well this is exactly what happens with Marley and Vin. After dating for 4 years, Marley moves on while Vin is stuck where he is. They meet back up at an engagement party for Vin's brother. Marley is the fiancee! Trying to hide their past does not work well for either of them and so begins a very emotions and heartfelt story. I fell hard for Vin. I always love the underdogs, and that is where Vin is sitting. He is full of regret, sadness and remorse. The perfect man to pull on your heartstrings. Mine were not the only heart strings that were pulled on. There is so much to love in this story. Shanora Williams delivers a romance that lingers long after the book is read. Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas really bring this book to life. Through their narration, I got lost in the story and could not stop listening. Laurel brings Marley to life. A woman torn between her past and future, Laurel brings all of those struggles and emotions out. I felt them all, along with Marley. Salinas is fabulous with his narration of Vin. Vin is a complex character and struggling with so many deep emotions. Salinas really brings this all to life and my heart really broke for Vin. I look forward to hearing more from both narrators.

Love will conquer all

This story will have you glued till the end it is a bit slow at the beginning . It’s a slow burn love story . The author wrote about 2 souls that loved each other but somehow was kept apart . Both the Hero and Heroine had l problems that they had to face at the beginning of the story . Hero is Vinny . Heroine is Marley. They both came from 2 different worlds. Vinny came from money and wealth but something went wrong. He turns to alcohol and drugs . And he gives up on Marley at the time . Marley gave from the wrong side of the tracks , had a hard life . Vinny gets cleaned up and he wants Marley back . Marley gets engaged to Vinny brother Lloyd but Vinny wants her back . Both performance by Gregory and Lacy were great . Gregory deep husky voice for Vinny was great. His performance for Lloyd who was a bad apple was great also . Lacy performance for Marley was strong Thank you Audio book obsession for a great listen

A sad gripping story of lost love that is later reconciled, but not before one of the characters realize they are making a big mistake by marrying the wrong brother. Lacy & Gregory did a wonderful job narrating this story. 🎧 Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession 🎧

I can't stop thinking about Vinny!!

a roller coaster of emotions, twists, and turns that you won't see them coming, the story of Marlene and Vinny. I really enjoy my Fiance's brother as I really didn't expect so many things that happened that made the story even more intriguing and more enjoyable. the love between Marlene and Vinny was very intense no matter how much they tried to hide it and even trying to forget and start a new life but life kept bringing them together and making it impossible to forget about their past. I really didn't expect the evilness of some of the characters. I really didn't see that coming but it made perfect sense why Vinny was the way he was and why he separated himself from the people he loved. it brought me to tears and also made me smile once we finally understood the story of the main characters.. Shanora has a way with her words and stories making you want to keep reading and my fiance's brother was not the exception it had all the perfect ingredients to make this story great. angst, love, intriguing moments and two amazing characters that will keep you wanting to know more and more about them.. The narrations by Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas really brought to life these amazing characters, their feelings, and emotions making the story even more enjoyable and more intriguing.. I really felt every situation the main characters were going through because of the great work Lacy and Gregory did.. really enjoy their work so much. great book, great characters, and great story!! Second chances aren't always easy

Marley and Vin were happy together but both had difficult pasts which lead to addiction, drug abuse and self-destruction. They lost contact for years before unexpectedly crossing paths again. Both have changed for the good but have moved on yet still have this connection they can't let go. It is an emotional story of second chances that is well worth a listen. Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas both did a great job bringing the voice and emotions of the characters to life. 🎧AudiobookObsession

Great but......

I liked this story very much but the ending was to abrupt and I felt like revenge was not served for some people and the truth wasn’t revealed to other. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings Good storyline that progresses nicely to a happy ending Hot and emotional love scenes Main characters was well described and developed in to realistic personalities but the secondary characters wasn’t easy to read Narrators: Clear pronunciation and read with feelings 5 stars overall 🎧 AudiobookObsessionReviewer
