Grayson Garrison could have been a pro bull rider. Instead, he's lived in the shadow of his elder brother after an injury nearly took him out of the sport. He can't have a conversation without being compared to Tate and it's driving him crazy. He's tired of having to prove to everyone he's just as good and his own person. All he ever wanted to be was a bull rider and his brother stole that from him too, but everything will change when he meets the new rodeo doctor for the season.

Dr. River Thompson grew up in Cole County around the rodeo, full of men and animals who were constantly injured. All she ever wanted was to fix the broken bodies, so she became an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports and trauma. When an old acquaintance begs hers to take over for him at the Cole County rodeo, it's the last thing she wants to do. Being surrounded by yet another group of men she'll have to prove her capabilities too for the six-month season is only going to put her on edge. Then she meets the pissed-off bull rider on opening night and for once she doesn't have to prove a thing to someone.

Greyson fell first. River is the Dr on duty at the Rodeo. River is no nonsense and can hold her own in a male dominated field.

Lacy is new to me as a Narrator and felt Sebastian and Lacy were perfect for these roles. Its narrated with duel POV.

This was the first book by Britton Brinkley for me, and it was a fantastic introduction.
Grayson Garrison needs medical attention after another altercation with his brother. Dr. River Thompson has been recruited to fill in for the regular rodeo doctor for the upcoming season. Her first patient is Gray. He’s surly and has no plans to listen to doctor’s orders. They may disagree on Gray’s treatment, but the sparks fly, and the sexual tension is high.

These two quickly discover they have more in common beyond their physical attraction. Gray is tired of living in his rodeo star brother’s shadow and being treated like a child. River is fighting to be taken seriously in a male dominated field and gain the respect of her family. Their journey starts as insta-lust, but it develops into so much more. They looked past the fronts they each put up for everyone else and I loved the mutual respect and admiration they had for each other. It’s a playful, spicy, low angst, heartfelt ride to get to their HEA.

Narrated by Lacy Laurel and Sebastian York and they delivered. They truly brought Gray and River to life. Sebastian brought all the gruff, surly attitude needed for the cowboy with a chip on his shoulder but turned on the charm and tenderness with River. Lacy has a smooth, sultry tone to her voice that was perfect for River’s strength, sass, and teasing nature. She also delivered the softer and vulnerable side of River.

This was a great start to the series. It was a quick, easy listen with characters I can’t wait to see more of.

RIDE ME 4.25 Stars! 🎙️5 Stars!
GIDDY UP!!! Ok, I officially LOVE ME a Cowboy Romance!!
Ride Me by Britton Brinkley is the perfect small-town romance, sweet and spicy! I caught myself grinning like a fool and laughing while I listened. River the FMC is a surgeon taking over as the rodeo doctor for the summer. Grayson the MMC is a bull rider and he is pretty much love-struck after their first interaction! The relationship moves fairly quickly and I liked that, it was a nice change.
🎙️Now let’s talk voice actors! 🎙️
This was my first listen with Lacy Laurel and she did an amazing job voicing the strong independent FMC River. Let me tell you Lacey can make the word breakfast sound seductive!! GET IT GIRL! 🙌🏼
Then we have Sebastian York as Grayson! Although strong and stubborn, Gray is a southern gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets!! 🔥 Need I say more???? Sebastian was perfect as Grayson with his southern, sexy, cowboy voice!

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and it was a great listen. I thoroughly enjoyed Grayson and River's insta-love and how passionate they were for each other. Their chemistry and the banter between them hit the spot for me. The story around them, their jobs, and Grayson's brother was super interesting, and very well written. I do with there was a bit more depth of the main characters, as well as a bit more information about what happened between Grayson and his brother, but otherwise, it was a nice, hot read. The narration by Lacy Laurel and Sebastian York was excellent. Lacy made River sound exactly how I imagined her, a strong, independent woman. And Sebastian made need a cowboy in my life.

A grumpy mmc, a sweet doctor fmc, and their instant connection made Ride Me enjoyable. I can't wait for Buck Me.

I enjoyed Grayson. Once you got past his grumpy, broody side, he was sweet and supportive. I really liked his growth towards the end.

River was a sweet FMC. But I found it very hard to connect with her. Honestly, I felt like there wasn’t very much backstory or depth for either of the main characters.

I feel so bad writing a not-so-positive review, but I just did not enjoy this one. Ride Me started off kinda slow and unfortunately didn’t pick up for me. There wasn’t really any action or controversy or drama at all. (Not that every book needs those things, but the storyline and characters were not enough to carry the book.) It fell flat for me. This book had a lot of potential, but I felt it was missing details, depth, & background that would have set this story up for success.

A couple things I enjoyed:
The spice. It was hot. 🥵
The attraction between Gray & River.
The sweet ending.
Gray’s growth.

The audio was the reason I didn’t put this one down. The best part of this book was Sebastian York narrating Gray. He has that perfect deep voice and twang for a broody country bull rider. He was the reason I continued reading/listening. Lacy Laurel was good as River and had her sweet tone down.

This is a delightful, low drama, insta-love rodeo cowboy story by a new to me author. Ms. Brinkley has a lovely way with words and great character building. Grayson is a cinnamon roll MMC with alpha tendencies and River is a strong, independent MMF. I love how he supports her career and how she never tries to change him. There is some family drama that fits in with the story nicely. The audio production was performed in duet by Sebastion York and new to me narrator, Lacy Laurel. Let me just say that if you haven’t heard SebYo as a Bronc-riding cowboy, you’re missing out. Ms. Laurel did a nice job with River’s complicated character. All in all, this was an easy-breezy 4 star read with 3.5 spice peppers.

This was a solid 3.5-star read for me, rounded up to 4 for the sake of the platform.

This small-town cowboy romance has a fast-moving connection, a bit of family drama, and a classic insta-love setup. While the story itself was okay for me, and there were a few sweet and heartfelt moments sprinkled throughout. I didn’t fully connect with the characters or their emotional arcs, and I found myself wishing for a bit more depth especially around the family dynamics.

What really made the experience better was the audiobook. Sebastian York delivered, as always his southern accent and smooth delivery fit Grayson perfectly and added a lot to the character. Lacy Laurel was a new voice for me. Her husky tone brought something unique to River’s side of the story and gave her a grounded, steady presence.

If you enjoy cowboy romances with a protective male lead, a low-drama storyline, and strong narration, this one could be worth adding to your TBL. 🎧🤠

I have fallen in love with Cowboy Romance and this audiobook is one of the reasons why. It’s got it all; small town, rodeo cowboys, he falls first, family drama, a strong FMC who knows what she wants and a cinnamon roll MMC with a dirty mouth.
Grayson Garrison is one stubborn bull rider. But he meets his match in the new rodeo doctor, River Thompson. Sebastian York and Lacy Laurel do an amazing job in this dual narration audiobook of Ride Me, book one in the Boulder Ranch Series.
