He does his best to stay away from Miranda, but when his best friend asks him to accompany her on a weekend trip to pick up horses, they decide to give in to their desires just once. Just one time to get it out of their systems, before leaving it all behind them.

In the blink of an eye, Hayden finds himself the sole guardian of a grieving teenage girl. When Miranda’s mom takes the girl under her wing, Hayden and Miranda’s lives become even more connected than they ever imagined. Now they must find a way to juggle their feelings while also making sure to put the people they love first.
