Enjoyable Sci Fi

I really enjoyed listening to Revenant. The story grabs you in the very first chapter and the adventure continues until the very end of the book. It is very well paced. The characters are well written and I really cared about their story lines. I am eager to listen to Book 2 in the series. I also kept feeling nostalgic with some of the terms in this book. They reminded me of my Kung Fu class and teacher as a child.

Rhys David does a great job with the narration. He keeps the story exciting and the listener engaged the entire time. His voice is very easy to listen too.

Promising Start to a New Series

I was given a copy of this audiobook at my request and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I requested this book after reading the synopsis; the idea of mysterious AI and secret origins drew me to it. The opening chapter of the book further drew me in. It had a lyrical tone to its writing that made me want to dive into the rest of the book. The characters are well done and I felt interested in the outcomes of their encounters. I have to say that, at this point, Davi is my favorite. Rhys David’s narration was well done. I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever heard, but it is certainly not the worse. He has a pleasant voice with good inflection and the narration flows naturally. My only complaint would be the poor editing/formatting in the eBook version with commas in weird places and random breaks in lines of text. I like to use both audio and ebook formats when I'm reading a book, especially with Sci-Fi and Fantasy because I can see the spelling of characters and words, but I gave up on trying to use both together in this case.

You NEED to get this book!

It is not often that I an grabbed by a book instantly...however Revenant did just that. This is an incredible beginning to a new series. Raymond Bayly has come up with amazing characters...some are creepy and several make you laugh. Also, this has the perfect ending to a book 1.

Rhys David is the perfect narrator. I love the way he differentiates characters. Also..a British guy doing a Virginia accent! PRICELESS!

Awesome Military Sci Fi

Well written with story opening and progressing smoothly. Like a good song, it builds to a crescendo, and has an excellent ending. Narration is done well with excellent vocal pressure at correct moments.
I recommend this audiobook for ages 17 and older due to language and violence with some suggestive situations.

Great book!

Intriguing and riveting! A story worth reading for the sci fi fans. Would love to see these characters come to life in a film. The main characters are compelling and likable. Can’t wait to read more in the series.

It's A Fun Ride

The characters are great and the reading performed by Rhys Davis is really good. He adds dimension and soul to each character and it really helps you get into the story.

The story itself pulls you along nicely. Little things pop up that make you think, "Wow. How do they make this stuff up?" I enjoyed that. I like the personal insights about the main character being an army vet. It's obviously written by someone in the know on that. The little key phrases that only someone who enlisted would know and how they feel.

Solid sci-fi. Stooge power.

Great book. It's got lots of laughs and some great action. The character development was a little lacking and I felt like he got away from the plot a few times, but overall it was fantastic. The interactions between Blake and the ship's AI, and the crazy Russian scientist, are the best.
I can't wait for the next book, Jamestown.

I wanna go too!

Beam me up and let me go with this crew. You'll want to be right there in the middle of all their adventures. There's enough action to keep your heart pumping, some awww moments, and the perfect amount humor. When it ended I was hoping the next release was out already. sadly, I must wait.
Mr. Bayly created an awesome beginning to this series,, becoming a favorite right from the start.

Great start to a promising series.

it has been a while since I looked forward to the second book in a series as much as I am looking forward to following this group around. In the tradition of the Omega Force or Aurora series, this group of heroes is very captivating and easy to find a relatable character.

the universe being created is nuanced and interesting, with lots of straight forward super-human battles combined with exposition to expose the world. book is very well performed and was overall a very enjoyable listen. I very much look forward to the next installment.

Now, the obligatory, "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

We are what we need to be.

Three humans - a soldier, damaged by his time in Afghanistan, a paraplegic ex-combat pilot and a psychotic math genius engineer - are abducted from Earth to serve as the crew on a prototype alien warship by the ship's AI, known as Morgan. After receiving nannies and augmentation, the team travel, first equiping themselves then readying to fight the Empire, to keep Earth and it's people from subjugation and bring freedom to the galaxy .But things are never quite that simple...

An enjoyable tale with some interesting ideas. The writing is occasionally repetitive but mostly well delivered and the characters are well drawn. Narration by the English accented Rhys David is excellent, clear, well paced and with properly placed intonation and emphasis, adding interest and excitement to the text. Additionally, each protagonist is individually and distinctly voiced: a good performance.

Whilst the story is not entirely original, it is intriguing with interesting possibilities, not just constant battling. A good story in it's own right and as a start to a new series. My thanks to the rights holder of Revenant, who, at my request via Audiobook Boom, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy.

I thoroughly Enjoyed this one.

Anyone that like a bit of scifi space alien type of books, will love this.
Characters are well developed, and new ones appearing to join the crew each bring something new to the team.
Looking forward to listening to the next book.
