Publisher's summary

Most books on biblical prophecy are filled with doom and gloom. Their focus is on the cataclysmic events foretold in Scripture: wars, famines, floods, and earthquakes will rock Planet Earth in its last days, right up to Armageddon and the personal return of Jesus Christ.

Best-selling author Tim LaHaye believes that this viewpoint is confusing at best and misrepresents God's true, merciful nature and purposes for humanity. Offering a very different perspective, the author shows his readers how the Lord of Creation wants us to have a future filled with hope, optimism, and blessing, and how this can be understood only when we see the big picture of the wonderful plan God has for mankind.

In this optimistic new book, Dr. LaHaye explains that God's actions in the End Times are motivated by his love for us. The prophecies are not so much warnings of judgment as they are invitations to salvation! The author surveys hundreds of biblical portents and reveals the patterns in which they came to fruition. He then looks at the central role that Christ plays and examines those prophecies yet to be fulfilled.

Most of all, Dr. LaHaye gives us more than facts and timelines, more than interpretations of mysterious biblical passages. His readers will gain insights into the WHY of prophecy and a new appreciation for God's love, the underlying force behind his redemptive plan for the final days of earth.

Critic reviews

"LaHaye succeeds in what he does best: sharing biblical prophecy." (Publishers Weekly)
"Richard M. Davidson manages every variation smoothly, changing cadence and emotional tone with ease. Davidson seems not only to understand LaHaye's complex points, but to sympathize with the message." (AudioFile)

Very comforting promises!

What made the experience of listening to The Merciful God of Prophecy the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed hearing Tim LaHaye express so beautifully how we can see God's mercy displayed in biblical prophecy. He relates the comfort and hope of the scriptures to followers of Christ, and offers hope to a lost world in light of what is to come.

Any additional comments?

In light of all of the chaos that fills our world, there is a hope that God has given to those who will trust in His saving provision through Jesus Christ, and that is the hope of salvation, and the imminent rapture of the Church. I pray that many will read this audiobook, and learn of this hope or be comforted by it, if you already know Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord.

overwelming book

no matter how much factual infomation you give a man, you can't make him drink. apologetics is a person to person debate, like it or not, you can't write a book or speech to win the masses. if you could, then man kind would live by the 10 commandments with easy. while all the information in this book is true, "the story of John" was a much better medium to convey the truth... this book was just long and boring.
